Vat-grown insects will be added to Genetics Expanded where they fit much more.

If I may ask, what made you guys change the decision on vat grown insectoids? I understand the Insector germline upgrade "Hiveglands" may allow us to build some new structures. I just wonder how the new mechanics will allow me to reliably make milkbeetles for example.

If you use this mod on 1.5 your save will be corrupted when we release Insectoids 2. Even as much as adding this mod to your 1.5 save and then saving the game will doom that save.

Well yea maybe windmills was a bad example. But some organic table to craft stuff? Or building some "living" organic structure (maybe with insect jelly as a building resource) that acts as a generator to "give life" to bioluminesant lights and smaller stationary insects (turrets) spewing like acid or something at incomming enemies? Well its your call in the end and im still gonna instantly subscribe and greatly appreciate whatever comes in the new version of this mod like with all your other VE mods. I just wish our insectors could live in a proper hive instead of normal buildings :D.

If you even as much as add this mod to your 1.5 save, it will corrupt your save in a few weeks when Insectoids 2 releases. I promise you that.

I think it'd be nice if infested textures (like on infested ships) appeared on other things like stations and furniture visually instead of just filth, slime and dirt around it. The build-up/severity of it can turn into sludge. On the floor, the thick sludge can decrease movement speed/manipulation. (And maybe thin sludge/slime can cause pawns to slip and crawl.)

Perhaps you can have an event before a base is overrun where an nearby allied or neutral faction needs help from the infestation and if you make it in time you can save them but if you forget, it become an "Overrun outpost" as normal. The longer the player lets it sit, the more the infestation grows and spreads. Maybe you can take the VFE - Mechanoids route and have new nest pop up too. This should tie in the "Insect Hive" faction description and "New raid methods".

Just my thoughts. It's been a while so I can't exactly remember what else this mod already did.

There are so many good mods and modders in RimWorld that its not easy to be on all theirs pages and discords etc. So its often easier to just ask on the steam page.

Any possibility for something similar to a face hugger and the eggs? maybe a special varient? and also is it possible to code the insects to "build" a doorway into a mountain,so you can have secret hives on your map you dont uncover unless digging or following them, allowing them to essentially kidnap passerbys and or your colonists/ off map people

Hey, just wanted to drop an idea here that personally i would love for the new 1.5 version of this mod. Insectoid themed structure variants. Just normal working things like generators, windmills, workstations etc with changed look and resources to build. I really wish there was a mod for this so when we play as insectoid xenotype we could build fully organic zerg base.

It was dated and not on par with other VFE mods, so we're redoing it for it to be more like a free DLC content-wise.

Only depends on how complex the mod is or if an update changed a directory a mod uses though. Many times a simple version tag update is all a mod needs to update. This one is a more complex mod though. Which is probably why they are redoing it instead.

More so, never use untagged mods, or look for most recent comments on how they're working on lately. Any mod loader/manager shows that this mod isn't working on latest game version.

Unfortunately it's either deep-diving into the save and removing thousands of references by hand, or starting a new save. I can't help you with the former because it's way too time consuming.

This is what I get for not checking the mod before starting a save in 1.5- Anyone know a safe way to remove the factions this mod adds to the game? They are gone, but the bases still exist as phantom bases, making the world menu lag horridly because of it. It's either have it and have a broken Debug menu and whatever other issues it causes, or have an almost unresponsive world map screen cause of these phantom bases that shouldn't exist but do.
