As someone who's played Mass Effect since 2008 and finished each game multiple times, I had a blast reliving those old memories and reconnecting with a universe that I used to, and still, love so much. if you judge this game purely on its merit as a remaster though, it's pretty average truth be told. ME1 got a lot of welcome gameplay and graphics boosts but ME2 and ME3 are barely changed and the remaster misses a lot of opportunities to easily improve on the original. And I don't mean sweeping changes like "fixing" the infamous ending but just small gameplay tweaks like when you restart a ME3 playthrough with the same character, you get the opportunity to immediately use unlocked DLC bonus powers OR fixing issues where the audio drops off in ME3 OR giving new players helpful notifications saying DLCs like Arrival or Leviathan are best played in the end game and not necessarily when they become available OR, what I always hoped for, restoring cut content. Also, a lot of textures, especially hands, are still SUPER rough.

But at the end of the day, nostalgia is one helluva drug and as a long time fan of the series, I enjoyed this game a lot. If you're also a veteran of the series and haven't tried it out yet, I'd certainly recommend it on sale. If you're completely new to the series, I say, give it a shot. There's a reason why Mass Effect is lauded as one of the greatest RPG series of all time.
