This group is for people who grew up with old school consoles like the gamecube, ps1, ps2, gameboy, gameboy advance, N64, Atari, sega genesis and so on. (New consoles are accepted as well like the xbox 360, psp, ps vita, ps3, Wii, Wii U and so on)

In this group you don't need anything, just try to be respectful of the people in this group and enjoy the Nostalgia that I'll try to deliver. Once in a while I'll mention other subjects besides classic gaming to keep this group more interesting like classic rock or whatever.

Since October tradition has been cancelled due to Covid, I thought I could share some spooky content to keep us occupied.

The folks at Cinemassacre did their own horror movie ranking from the 1920s till current year & I want to personally add my own ranking starting from the 50s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXnEVKzDvbA

1950s: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (It's more Sci-fi but the idea of aliens invading bodies was far out back in that era)

1960s: Psycho or House of Usher (Hard to choose)

1970s: Texas Chainsaw Massacre

1980s: Hard choice between Nightmare On Elm Street, The Fly (Cronenburg remake) or Hellraiser

1990s: I'll come back to this rating in an edit because there's too many good choices

2000s: Saw

2010s: Hereditary (Not a lot of good choices for the 2010s to be honest since most of the better films came from Indies like The Lighthouse for example.)

The future of older games on Steam

First off I probably missed out on a lot of older games being released lately since so many games come everyday & because of my inactivity/laziness but I wanted to share this story since I care very deeply about game preservation.

You may have saw the dreadful news that Steam is going to cut Windows XP & Vista support on January 1st. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1558-AFCM-4577&l=

While it's reasonable to stop supporting an old OS for security reasons we're all probably wondering about the future of every game on steam that relies on Windows XP & Vista as the minimum requirement & Valve's plan on preserving + giving the games modern PC support so that we don't feel robbed.

However when that time does come there's 2 problems.

1) Windows XP or Vista + New Steam Client + Older Game = Access denied

2) Newer OS + New Steam Client + Older Game = Access Denied
