F.E.A.R. was released in October 2005. Almost two full decades later in February 2024, it is still considered a golden standard in the FPS genre. Its gameplay still holds up now, so does its graphics to a lesser extent. The story in particular is stellar. If you haven't played this yet, now's the time to redeem yourself.

One of the best, most impressive fps games I have ever played. This game came out in 2005 but it's honestly timeless. The AI is the highlight of the whole experience however, and will even give callouts to their teammates. I remember being fascinated for a moment in this game when I was leaning out of a doorway trying to get an angle on an enemy, when he moved a couch to get cover and attempt to block my line of sight. A game that is nearly 20 years old has better AI than most modern games nowadays. Truly blows my mind. Please. Buy this game. 9/10

One of the all time greats. Hard to put down. Thrilling gun play, great story / characters / mechanics / atmosphere. Ahead of it's time, still holds up today. 9.5 / 10
