"Please keep in mind, the walker works on the Star Wars Vehicle base by Liam0102 and thus it's still technically a hovering speeder.
It works best on flat terrain, but should also work fine in normal environment. I highly recommend NOT to use it in narrow or steep terrain.

Hopefully, these issues will be fixed in the future and walkers will behave better in terrain.
The player is inside the walker, behind a prop, and high that might be why NPCs won't fire on it.
