Thanks for the note @feydras. i came here looking for a solution to that. no luck.

With this mod installed droppod attacks are still crashing through my overhead mountain. This results in collapsed rocks crushing things in my base regularly. The raider usually don't get through, but sometimes do.

Does this also work with normal buildable roofs? Because i got a base design and i dont want millions of columns everywhere

@fartsmella How are you removing overhead mountain roof? If you're using a mod to do so, which mod?
Rose ♡ 28 Jul @ 6:44am
FYI this mod doesnt work for removing overhead mountain. The collapsed rocks will endlessly spawn and your pawns will not remove the overhead mountain roof

I've had a look through the code and I think I've found a good way to block roof collapsing at a lower level that should catch some of the collapse conditions sneaking but. I'll give that a test and should have an updated version out soon.

just installed - roofs are still collapsing when using the remove roof zone tool because the AI will remove roof tiles in silly orders.

weird, i wonder what mod is causing it, because at one point i had only 'drop at edge' enabled, but all pods were still being scattered.
something that might help is that i did use map designer to make a map witch is mostly mountain, maybe the game is throwing a fit because there's not enough unrooved tiles, even though i changed the map over my playtime to have more 'open' space than when i started.

@Dragoneer I wasn't able to reproduce the issue (drop pods are never crashing through thick mountain roofs when using unmodded rimworld for me) but I am going to see if I can find any other code-path that leads to roof collapse that can be disabled.
Dragoneer 21 May @ 12:24pm
dang, i have tried a number of mods, and i was hoping this one could be my fix.
i have a base under a mountain, but i hate how, when drop pods land on thick roof, it forces a collapse, i had to disable all drop pod raids, which i dislike because i would welcome the challenge of enemies dropping behind my defensive lines, so long as several places in my base don't get caved in.
i dont get why drop pods on thick rooves force a collapse but mortar shots don't?
anyway, even with disabling all drop pod raids, when summoning the mechanitor bosses, they still
randomly scatter and cave in multiple places on my base, is there a way for you to disable the drop pod cave-ins? every part of my base has proper supports so natural cave-ins wont happen.
G-Fiti 18 May @ 5:45pm
I was thinking about using invisible collumns, sadly that one is not updated yet. Your mod will do the trick too, thanks for keeping it updated!
Val von Ra 10 May @ 4:40pm
No, oddly I have mods that I installed afterwards to try to stop this. I'm pretty sure it's just vanilla but it also only happens when the raiders do the scattered drop. All cluster drops are super precise and don't do it. I've even had this happen when calling in allied factions for immediate support but again they are fine unless they do the raid "Random drop" maybe that is added unlisted from a mod like Vanilla Expanded or something.
Nepenthe  [author] 10 May @ 4:24pm
@Sir Val von Ra I've not been able to reproduce that issue at all - for me raiders will never drop pod through thick rock ceilings , and when they drop through normal ceilings with supports removed they are are not triggering collapses. Do you have any other mods installed related to ceilings (ceiling removal, constructed mountain ceilings) or that allow raiders to punch through mountain ceilings?
Val von Ra 6 May @ 12:10am
I appreciate it. I used the dev mod and just deleted them and didn't need to spawn in supports w/this mod for anyone else looking for the best fix. I tried many mods but this is the only one that helps with raids and collapsing in any means.
Nepenthe  [author] 5 May @ 10:34pm
I'll try to reproduce and fix that, in the meantime build some supports nearby before fixing up the damage.
Val von Ra 5 May @ 8:57pm
Punching through. Is there any way you can make this impact those? I believe your mod is working as intended for what you just described though. I haven't had any other collapsing where without your mod, mining those rubbles will collapse more as it doesn't do that with yours.
Nepenthe  [author] 5 May @ 8:54pm
Are the collapses around where the raiders punch though, or is it the normal "all pieces of roof more than X tiles from a support" being triggered by the drop pod arrival?

For the first case, it's probably generating a special "collapsed roof" effect around the arriving pods as part of the "punch through", but if it's the second case I'll review the code to see if I can stop the collapse triggering since I only disabled the "check for collapse when a supporting structure is removed"
Val von Ra 5 May @ 8:27pm
I keep having the overhead mountains collapse with drop pods on a raid that scatters the drops all over the map even with this mod.

THANK YOU. I think roofs are unfair as fuck in the vanilla game.
Nepenthe  [author] 16 Mar @ 7:13pm
Metadata updated for 1.5 (no changes made to mod)
bebrik 6 Mar @ 8:51am
i thank you for this because so many colonists died from mining out a rock and the roof caved in
Nepenthe  [author] 11 Feb @ 3:05pm
@Deklatis thanks, I'll add that to the description
Deklatis 10 Feb @ 3:31pm
Working now! Raise the Roof conflicts.
Deklatis 10 Feb @ 2:59pm
For me, the overhead mountains keep falling after mining =(
VALT13L 4 Feb @ 11:17pm
THANK YOU SENPAI.
ItzKriefer 4 Feb @ 4:15pm
Idk if this is a error on my modlist, but mountain roofs keep falling
Clouce 17 Dec, 2023 @ 10:59am
Literally had to isntall this mod because the roof collapse is happening on walls, the default in this game literally makes no sense. Thanks for the upload!
CookieCommander 7 Dec, 2023 @ 9:56pm
yeh for real thanks man. Like i dont mind roof collapses but the colums dont make a lot of sense. I should be able to make liek a big ol colum. I really appreciate this.
The XenoSenpai 29 Nov, 2023 @ 8:35am
Even with smart construction and deconstruction I always had roofs collapse. Thank you for the mod!

Thank you I needed this so badly that no more pillars could ruin my layout.
