bitcoin5000.site 8 Jan, 2024 @ 1:48am
hey, do you still have clean version of darkrp 2.2 (or any old version)?
Anneke ⁧⁧[Aardwolf] 4 Jul, 2022 @ 5:58am
imo this is one of the best addon for wiremod, and its only addon i use when i play gmod (include wiremod)
philxyz  [author] 3 Jul, 2022 @ 5:55pm
@The Snow Frog Feel free to do so, at the moment I can't dedicate time to this. Glad you like it, however! :)
Anneke ⁧⁧[Aardwolf] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 2:23am
@The Snow Frog
any success with that?
btw i fixed dupe error
The Snow Frog 11 Jul, 2021 @ 1:57pm
I think i'm gonna fork this mod since you're not working on it anymore, been using it for years but now i know lua a little better; it has a few problems, namely antennas interfering with each other when they shouldn't (skew loss on one affecting all) and making complex systems really hard to build
ArteB 21 Nov, 2020 @ 11:13pm
Addon is very good! But, you can fix advdup 2 bug? When i duping, it starts broking (sorry for my english)
philxyz  [author] 7 Feb, 2020 @ 11:15pm
The advanced duplicator might have changed since this was created.
Moomoobeef 20 Jan, 2020 @ 8:22am
Actually now I have another issue concerning dupe, the models dupe properly but they lose their functionality completely.
Moomoobeef 20 Jan, 2020 @ 7:51am
nevermind, its the server I'm on.
Moomoobeef 20 Jan, 2020 @ 7:36am
I can't seem to save these with adv. dupe 2 or regular duplicator. Is this a known problem, or is there some sort of fix?
TheRadioGuy 18 Dec, 2018 @ 4:08pm
I'm a ham radio operator and I really think this is a cool idea! :D
Poly 11 Mar, 2017 @ 5:08pm
Alright, for those of you complaining:
Use "Ranger" under "Detection" in your Wiremod tab and spawn it to the front of 1 antenna do the same for antenna 2 and make sure they are pointing at eachother. once you align them perfectly, you can remove the ranger and it'll work. It's one of the best wire addons I've seen and if you chill out and mess with them you can get them to work
philxyz  [author] 19 Oct, 2016 @ 3:33pm
I don't expect anything, really. I do expect it to work, however. It's not really under super active development at the moment since I'm too busy developing SeriousRP. Try to point your antennae at each other. To make sure it's working, use Omni-directional pole antennae first.
Brozma_Doom_to_you_[CZE] 17 Oct, 2016 @ 12:36pm
@Philxyz
1st I have no Lua errors, that means no conflict.
2nd How can I check alignment of my antennae? Do you expect, that I have enough knowledge about radios? The only thing I know about radios is: the signal is transmitted trough air by electromagnetic waves. That's all.
philxyz  [author] 25 Sep, 2016 @ 2:20pm
Check the alignment of your antennae. They might not be lined up correctly. If you have any Lua errors, scroll to the very first one you get and remove that addon. Repeat the process until there are no more errors.
Brozma_Doom_to_you_[CZE] 24 Sep, 2016 @ 3:23pm
This addon doesn't work for me! I have a transmitter wired to these inputs:
BaseMHz (value is 200)
On (value is 1 =On)
TxWatts (value is 255)(I didn't get harmed when came close to trasmitter)
Channel 1 (value 5) (for testing purposes)

On receiver I have wired these inputs:
BaseMHz (value is 200)(matching the transmitter value)

But on outputs I have this: (I only used Channel 1 for my test)
Channel 1 (Output was randomly jumping between numbers from 0 to 9)
Ch1_HasSignal (Still displaying 0 no matter how far the receiver from transmitter is even when I put receiver very close to transmitter it still displays 0)
Ch1-dBm (Output was randomly jumping between numbers from -120 to -1000)
I have spacebuild 3 installed, but transmitter was connected to power source

What I am doing wrong? Is this addon corrupted? Doesn't it work because of too much addons? (I have 9 pages of addons I can't tell which ones because it will be complicated to write them here)
philxyz  [author] 31 Jul, 2016 @ 12:45pm
Many things are possible - I don't want to add more to this addon now though, since I don't have time to work on it. I needed to call it "done" at some point because I'm busy writing a huge free RP gamemode.
Corn Bread 24 Jul, 2016 @ 8:00pm
well again with simplicity i agree with, What about a 2-way option where radios can only RX when the TX is off and so on on the same frequency, like a typical simplex system? Would that be possible
philxyz  [author] 24 Jul, 2016 @ 4:54pm
They used to have 8 channels but I cut it down to 4 because ironically I thought people might think there were too many! :P
Corn Bread 24 Jul, 2016 @ 4:08pm
Oh I understand, simplicity is best sometimes. I dont like things to get too complicated to be fair. But yeah I really like this addon, but the radios need more channels IMO.
philxyz  [author] 24 Jul, 2016 @ 2:05pm
@Elfnet Gaming - Thanks for the feedback! - It is really only intended as an approximation of realism - I'm sure there could always be more features, as you say, such as propagation factors. I wanted to keep it relatively simple so as not to run away with the complexity. There's no multipath calculation or reflection considerations but fire does cause interference... It's great to know you find the addon useful!
Corn Bread 22 Jul, 2016 @ 6:31pm
@ &^ - I am a commercial communications technician and GMRS operator, I do some contract communications work for UP and KCS railroads, and I play GMod, I have 2 servers up now that are focused around railroading and we use this add-on extensively for data communications and ATS type systems.

From what I can tell there really is not propagation factors in this add-on and I don't even think objects can block signals.. On the map GM_Sunsetgulch we can send RF underground as long as things are lined up.. Basically it is pretty straight forward, the more TX power the more range and LOS is a factor with the directional antennas. I have found that 100 watts will cover just about every corner of a map.

You can use this with Spacebuild 2 and the radios will need energy to actually transmit and if godmode and the TX RF power is high enough it can actually injure you if your in the line of the signal and close enough.
Corn Bread 22 Jul, 2016 @ 6:28pm
@ philxyz - IDK if this version has this issue but the wiremod svn version has a bug that causes the radios to lose their wiremod properties when you advance dupe 2 area dupe them..

I'm an amateur radio operator, and this certainly seems pretty cool.
The G-man 25 Aug, 2015 @ 1:21am
Oh ok Thank you for the reply though!
philxyz  [author] 24 Aug, 2015 @ 1:39pm
Hi dark, It doesn't go quite that far unfortunately - I'm only mildly interested in amateur radio. I don't have any plans to do anything else with this addon since I'm making a free RP gamemode at the moment.
The G-man 24 Aug, 2015 @ 11:23am
Also are the effects of radio propogation present on this addon? (Haven't had time to test), Such as VHF acting differently to UHF in different maps/environments.
The G-man 24 Aug, 2015 @ 11:22am
Are you an amateur radio operator? Just wondering since I am and have yet to come across another gmodder who is interested in two way radio.
Sylva 25 Jul, 2015 @ 5:35am
would it be possible for someone to supply an advanced dupe txt file for me to try out what the radios can do?

Love this mod SO much :D:

Where Can i find Wiremod?
philxyz  [author] 2 Jan, 2015 @ 2:03pm
Not sure I understand the question... there's more coming from me (at some point this year) in the form of a new RP gamemode (will be open source and on github) - I'm hoping that will be good!
Adrakata 31 Dec, 2014 @ 7:53pm
Whats been happening to some good mods lately?
philxyz  [author] 17 Oct, 2014 @ 1:19pm
Awesome! Glad you find it useful!
freelancerleno 7 Oct, 2014 @ 3:49pm
Cool. I made a RC car with this, it's great! If we go too far (100W for my transmitter), the car stops. It's realistic! Thanks

MY WIREMOD COMLPLEALTY DISIPERED did this happen to any one else
did they get rid of it because it was my favorite mod
philxyz  [author] 16 Aug, 2014 @ 8:10am
Updated to fix the "On" input (it was always on regardless of the setting) and to move the toolgun into the "Wire Extras / Other" menu.
philxyz  [author] 9 Aug, 2014 @ 3:00pm
I'm glad you like it (and that it works for you now). There are some instructions here in the comments on how to use it and also over on http://www.wiremod.com/forum/wiremod-addons-coding/525-wire-directional-radios.html
right-handed pencil 9 Aug, 2014 @ 5:46am
Fixed it by re-downloading it...Thanks for the cool addon and i do not even have the senses on how to use it :|
philxyz  [author] 7 Aug, 2014 @ 3:48pm
Thanks for letting me know about it. I'll see what I can do to fix it.
Zaxabock 6 Aug, 2014 @ 12:13pm
+philxyz Two of my friends had the same problem as me, fixed it by downloading directly from github. I have no idea why it's like that.
philxyz  [author] 6 Aug, 2014 @ 10:17am
I'll look into that. I did test it very thoroughly before releasing it though...
right-handed pencil 6 Aug, 2014 @ 9:39am
When I spawn one with a tool gun it's just a ERROR
philxyz  [author] 5 Aug, 2014 @ 2:37pm
To activate the transmitter, wire the "On" input to the value 1. If you have Resource Distribution addon, use the Link tool to link an Energy resource to the transmitter also.
