Yes I am well aware you can get the most out of selling any cards you get especially foil ones however I prefer to keep at least one of each as I am a card and badge collector and any extra cards I get that I do not need really or at least don't care about period I would much rather prefer to trade them away for cards that I am interested in. Of course if I sell any cards collected I will have more in my wallet which means I can buy more cards that I don't have that are needed in order to gain more badges and level up, naturally the higher level you are the higher the chance you will have of getting more cards...that could contain a foil card(which is the rarest and hardest to get your claws into don't bother buying any foils on the market guys trust me it isn't worth wasting your money on anyways unless you want a foil badge super early that badly but do keep in mind all you will gain from that really is some exp and possibly a level up). And of course there is the other option where you could just simply hold onto your duplicate cards and just wait for more card drops till you run out or you could just buy the remaining ones you need and level up your level one badge to level 2, 3, 4, etc. which will help you raise your own level and of course increase your chances of getting more cards(boosters I think whatever you get it foil cards are the ultimate goal here especially if you are focused on adding to your wallet. And yes this is a tutorial message to those of you who aren't quite familiar with this cool addition to Steam, trust me and take my advise on this a few of you(level 7 and below) have lots of games and lots of play time and achievements which is safe to say you have lots of cards, probably some or a few duplicate ones, might even have a foil card on you, if you wish to upgrade your level or card collection or you know badges/badge collection this is the best way to go. Another clever tactic you all could take is to buy a super cheap emoticon that is like 5 or 6 cents(the cheapest booster pack I have seen for what I am going for is like 20 to 30 cents so buying a emoticon is better actually and of course cheaper on the market(the easiest game booster I can get is Savant-ascent one which is 400 gems) that is worth 100 gems and convert it into gems(perfect example yeti emoticon). You could also convert any duplicate backgrounds you have or stickers or emoticons basically you get it. Once you have enough gems you can create a booster pack and if you are lucky enough to get a foil card in the pack you could sell it for a good amount like a few dollars and use that money gained to buy some cool dlc or cards or games or booster packs that are cheap whatever floats your boat good luck and happy hunting everyone. Also potentially you could find a booster pack of cards that normally individually cost more however in a booster pack you could get a good deal and end up paying less for a pack of cards such as for example Savant-Ascent booster pack. Do take advantage of that please :) On the other hand you could buy a very cheap foil card and play the waiting game, if it ever does go up in value you could decide to go ahead and sell it for more or you could trade it for the actual foil card you need. Forgot to mention, another way to earn exp and level up is by participating in steam fest, for example you play 10 demo games during steam fest you might get awarded a badge later and even better exp points.
