I lit a chicken on fire then teleported her to a den of poisonous monsters causing a heck lot of fireworks.

11/10 for unconventional battle tactics.

If you like Settlers of Catan, Monopoly and other tabletop games, and at the same time you totally hate your friends this game ought to be just for you.

Even tough the port is ok at best it's still freaking Monster Hunter on the PC!!!
Pretty solid and smooth experience for those looking for a challenging action game with refined combat, if you have never played a monster hunter title before this is the absolute best entry yet.

Transistor is a very fun concise self-contained adventure with a satisfyingly deep combat system. Story is somewhat confusing but engaging. Shouldn't take more than a weekend to complete, unless you are up to a challenge, there is a new game+ mode aand several "limiters" to make your experience more challenging.
Art and OST are outstanding.
9/10 overall.

Moonlighter is a very fun and simplistic dungeon crawler with very light RPG elements that also has a really interesting shop-management "minigame" which is crucial to the game experience.

There is not much depth to the combat and character progression, so if you are expecting rich mechanics and skills or perks to change how the game plays you will be dissapointed. There is little room for customization besides the type of weapon you use, all of them have only two types of attacks, a normal and a charged one. The weapons themselves are categorized into two categories; one with elemental properties and one with none. Enemy variety is fine, difficulty is a little on the easy side (it took me 18.8 hours to complete the game on the maximum difficulty with 32/57 achievements), the gameplay loop is a little bit repetitive but the game is short enough to avoid that becoming a problem.

On the other hand there is the shop management, which is an interesting mechanic that started really simple and boring but slowly and steadily introduced new system mechanics such as the occasional thief and decorations that change the shop stats. There is a "request" system in which NPCs will ask you to collect loot for them, unfortunately this mechanic is so bland and uninteresting that I stopped doing them completely, it could have been great if, for instance, requests could improve your "reputation" with NPCs, but there is really no meaningful interaction with most NPCs, the game looks like a missed opportunity in that department (taking into consideration the devs recognized taking inspirations from Harvest Moon).

I would say the game is pretty interesting and the gameplay loop is really fun if what you want is short bursts of intense dungeon crawling. My verdict is a 8/10.

SGW manages to remain interestingly deep and satisfying despite some aspects being streamlined from previous releases, the graphical overhaul transforms the galaxy from snoozefest to eye-candy, the ships are still tiny as hell but nevermind that, robust empire building mechanics make the game feel fullfiling on long-term.
I didn't like that this time some numbers and stats are hidden and the UI lacks some information that I considered critical in SG2, still a pretty cool game.
