I honestly understand Halo fanboys now. What a masterpiece!

At the time of review, only Halo reach is available, but honestly... Let me say this, even if only Halo reach was available for 40e, it'd still be worth a buy, I can't believe I'll get more HALO games in the future and I only paid 40e, crazy!

About HALO reach, the game is absolute joy and perfection to play, man... They sure know what PC players love, FOV slider, smooth mouse, low mouse sensitivity and the game feels absolutely perfect! This port is absolutely amazing, it's just... God, amazing!

I'll update this review as the HALO games release, but just get it... Trust me, just get this masterpiece, it's perfect in every shape and form, too bad I have work tomorrow, I'd be playing this all night!

10/10, can't wait to try other HALO games.

Early Access Review
Had a smile on my face the whole time I was playing this.

Now, many people say this is the real Quake 2 we always deserved (nothing against regular Q2 myself, one of my favorite games) and while that may be true, as it does use the famous Q1 engine, to me it just feels like DOOM 2 in 3D, which is of course a great thing, allow me to explain:

1.The double-barreled shotgun feels exactly the same as in DOOM 2, which is a great thing. It has that same click-clack-clack reloading sound, the animation length is the same and god does it feel beefy blowing stuff away with it. Strong DOOM 2 vibes from this alone.

2. They removed strafe jumping mechanic from the Quake engine. This is a negative and I just can't help but try to gain speed by strafe-jumping and here it's just not possible. This alone takes that Quake feeling out, you run more and jumping doesn't give you speed. In DOOM 2, you don't jump at all, you run and gun, I get the same feeling here.

3. The enemies feel DOOM-like to me, and not Quake-like except for that Scrag looking flying thing. The environments have a heavy gothic vibe which is amazing and I do enjoy it a lot.

All in all, I have to say, after that amazing game Ion Maiden, 3D realms is onto something even better, they just know how to make these old-school games, it's just a joy to play them.

As of now, this game checks all of the boxes when it comes to old-school FPS.

Maze levels, check.
Beefy guns with great sounds, check.
Run and gun gameplay, check.
Secrets, check.
Great atmosphere, check.
Attention to detail, check.

I LOVE IT. 10/10.

Playing this version out of protest. Why tf did Atari remove this from the store? Let the users decide which version they want to play. Fresh supply (the re-released remastered version) is great and all but why did you remove this one from the store?

Honestly I have to say the game feels way better playing it with BloodGDX source port than Fresh Supply, there is just a certain charm playing it on the original build engine and not on the engine they remastered the game on.

I'm a DS2 fanboy, yes unpopular opinion but I love DS2 the most, come get it what's up? But, I honestly have to say that DS3 is the ultimate souls experience to date, in my opinion it beats Bloodborne and Sekiro as well, even though I LOVED the artwork and the atmosphere in Bloodborne (who doesn't? lol), but I really think DS3 beats them all, it's just a complete souls game and you can play it however you like, dual-wield, shield builds, tank builds etc etc...

The graphics are great, however I did notice weird frame drops here and there and I do have a beefier machine, it's nothing that would bother you when playing but I have to say I did notice that this is not the greatest console port. DS2 and Dark souls remastered run at 60 fps and absolutely never drop bellow 60, DS3 however tends to go to Bloodborne PS4 30 fps lock level performance in some areas, for whatever strange reason...

The story and the lore are up to you to discover and this is something I always loved about Dark Souls games, I'm old-school, I'm a DOOM and Quake player, I don't have time for long Witcher 3-esque cutscenes and dialogues, I just want to be thrown into the game and action and have fun, I'm not watching a movie, I'm playing a game and DS3 delivers exactly this as previous titles did.

The combat has been vastly improved over the previous games, it's snappy, it's improved and it's fast! I really have to say that I enjoy it tremendously, it has that weight and slashing foes is so fun here. Keep in mind that it is faster than previous games and will kick your a$$ if you don't pay attention. Bosses also come in 'phases' and this adds another layer to the combat, although I'm not a fan of 'phases' in bosses I don't mind it that much.

Anyways, I really wrote too much, just get the game, you won't be disappointed, it's a masterpiece and FROM software is definitely my favorite developer, their games crush all competition, their games are the best, no doubt.

I think people are just too critical of the game and were expecting a 60e experience when it's actually a 30e game.

The good:

Gunplay, it's very satisfying and has that old formula from the previous games.
Graphics are beautiful.
Very optimized.
Paris looks really cool and catacombs are really nicely done.
Take-downs are also satisfying.
Lots of action, keeps you focused at all times.
Mini-games like Wolf3D.

The bad:

Can be frustrating fighting against certain enemies.
Though it does have a beautiful world, it doesn't feel like the 80's.
Changing weapons for different enemies, meaning certain types of weapons kill certain types of enemies and during the gun-fights you need to constantly swap the weapons. Now, this mechanic isn't annoying per se, maybe if weapon management was snappier and faster or I don't know, it just needs to be reworked.
The dialogue between the sisters is absolutely atrocious but it's so bad it's hilarious lol, I swear I was laughing at their one-liners, seemed like a "so bad it's funny" b-movie.
All those notifications about what buttons do what, missions etc. can be a bit overwhelming.

Anyways, I don't know if my taste got trash over the years but I kinda enjoy the game, no idea, good time killer for 30e, I got my money's worth. Btw, sister's dialogue alone deserves giving this game a thumbs up lol, I swear I thought people were joking but the sisters actually do say to each other "yeah DEWD" quite often, I swear it's so bad it's hilarious.

I can't say it's a definite yes from me, even though I will mark it as recommended, it's kinda in-between. I think it's def. worth it if you get it on sale.

I honestly prefer this to SOTFS. Don't get me wrong, scholar is great too and already poured 100 hours into that one, but this one is much more balanced, I knew something was off when I played scholar. Sure I know scholar added more enemies but still it was odd, literally every enemy is tweaked to be more aggressive and bosses seem smarter as well. Vanilla DS2 is much more balanced for new players and much more forgiving, I enjoy it way more.

Also scholar has some ridiculous out of place enemies, a freakin' dragon in Heide's tower of flame, really? Vanilla DS2 keeps enemies to their respective areas, and I like that a lot. All in all, a great souls game, a must play if you love souls games.

What a gem, what a game! Filled with action, dinosaurs and it feels so damn good and smooth! Never played Turok games before as I never was a console gamer but God do Turok 1 and 2 feel good! I gotta say I honestly prefer Turok 1 even though Turok 2 looks nicer and damn that double-barreled shotgun is nice in t2, but I feel like T1 really hits the balance between the complexity of the levels and the amount of action it has, it's perfect! Great job NightDive and thank you for the FOV slider!

10/10, you need to play this! Fantastic feel, fantastic shooting, fantastic movement, fantastic levels, fantastic game! LOVE IT!

It's absolutely fantastic! Never played Turok games before, yes yes I know, shoot me! But I never was a console gamer so I missed sweet gems like Turok. Gotta admit, I'm old-school to the core and love maze levels but levels in this game are some next level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! They are complicated as hell but also fun as hell! Shooting and going around the game world is so satisfying, nightdive yet again did an incredible job on the remaster, and God, thank you for allowing us to crank that FOV slider up, playing at 120 FOV is so cool.

Honestly, looking at the gameplay videos I thought I'd like Turok 2 more than Turok 1, but I think i prefer T1 lol, solely based on the complexity of the levels, again, levels are hardcore in Turok 2! But I love it! Amazing game 10/10.
