Unless you have a foil card I am looking for, I'm no longer trading any Fly to Kuma maker items. I'm done due to harassment from people wanting those items. Those of you who got the badge, enjoy it. Trade offers should go through this trade URL: https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=9647674&token=8W21EuvZ If you have a need to explain reasonable trading terms, just leave a comment on my profile. I know the trade window doesn't give you much room and I can't really respond to you there.

Everything in the top Item Showcase (below) is a duplicate available for reasonable trades (cards 1:1 in same set, emotes preferably traded for another emote that I don't already have from any game) Otherwise, try my SteamTrade Matcher quickmatch link.
So a few words about me:
I'm an introvert that mostly plays single player games. I don't really have time to "git gud" at competitive online games, and most of my friends don't have a compatible schedule for co-op games. I'm willing to try to meet up for co-op games but I'm an old fart now so I won't probably be putting in 50 hours a week on something. If you wanna play something maybe 2 hours a week or so, that's cool. I can probably manage that, and maybe more if I'm really into it for some reason.

I also spend a lot of my time on VR games. If you wanna meet in VR chat, AltSpace VR, Neos VR, Bigscreen beta, or whatever, that's cool too. If you wanna watch some movies in VR with me I've got a pretty wide selection including 3D movies (which that's what VR is perfect for). Check out my movie list: https://pastebin.com/QCcjhQjf

One thing I absolutely hate are people who cheat their achievements. If I see that you've unlocked 5000 achievements across 12 games in one single day (or something else ridiculous) odds are if I didn't remove you, I blocked you from spamming up the activity feed with that nonsense. No offense, but I don't see the point in cheating achievements and even less when you're making it obvious by 100% clearing every game you own in a short time span.

Please do:
:krstar: feel free to add me if you're looking for friends
:krstar: let me know in advance if you're interested in playing something (I will try to make it work)
:krstar: comment on my screenshots or status posts if you have something to say
:krstar: send me a message if you want. However, I actually talk too much once you get me started.

Please do not:
:stop: send a friend request JUST to trade. There's a trade URL. Use it. If you have no intention of doing anything other than trades, then the URL works great.
:stop: ask me to go to some shady website and vote for you
:stop: ask me to go into some forum/discord and ask them to unban you or otherwise help you with ban evasion
:stop: ask me to trade for something that clearly only benefits you (e.g. "I'll give you 100 gems for this rare card" or "please make a ton of booster packs for this game that you have which is no longer for sale").
:stop: pester me when I have given you an answer. I'm sorry you didn't like my answer. The solution is not "Ask him again until he changes his mind".
:stop: try to offer me "money" for stupid stuff. No you can't "buy" that thing in my inventory. If it was for sale like that it would be on the steam market already.
:stop: try to scam me. I don't have time for it, and you're wasting your time AND mine.

For those who might not know: This is a remake of an older Visual Novel that eventually spawned an anime and a sequel and an anime for the sequel. It replaces all the pictures from the old VN with scenes from the Anime, though there's a lot of other spots where they added content and stretched everything out.

EDIT: apparently the original had some options this game does not. I had forgotten the ability to pull up the phone any time you wanted in the original, though there wasn't a whole lot you could do with that. I remember there was an option to change your ringtone, and phone wallpaper, and also some achievement depended on doing stuff at certain times. This game simplifies it by removing the phone trigger option except for emails and d-mails.

I don't remember 100% of all the details of the original VN to make a side-by-side comparison, but in general, other than the visuals, the biggest difference seems to be a lot of extra scenes and dialog that I don't remember present in the older VN. Is it a good thing? I think the original was fine really. I just looked at my time played on the original Steins;Gate and it was 49 hours (and I'm sitting at 38-ish hours right now on this one). However, the 49 hours included multiple play throughs to get the extra endings, and the 38 hour figure is just one play through.

If this is your first time experiencing anything to do with Steins;Gate, I'd say you should probably buy the older VN as it's probably cheaper and would be better for you in the long run. If you have seen the anime and can't stomach the art style in the old VN, get this one.

Either way, the art in the sequel is closer to the old VN and they haven't made an "Elite" version of that one yet as far as I know.

For first timers not sure whether Steins;Gate is worth buying? The story is pretty good. The voice acting is pretty good. It's one of my favorite games/anime/movies. It doesn't overload you with choices, but it's not a one-route VN either. The game will auto "quick save" for you when a choice comes up so you can come back later and choose one of the OTHER choices and see the rest of the paths. Just remember to actually do a full save before you quit or else you lose all the quick saves.

The music is great, but I miss "Hacking to the Gate" from the Anime OP. The same band/group does the theme for this game though so it has a similar feel. There's lots of funny moments, and lots of emotional moments too. Not as emotional a game as say, "Clannad" but it's well-done.

Anyway, to recap: If you're new to the series, it might be better to start with the original VN even though the main story points don't change from that one to this one. It's cheaper and there's nothing wrong with it. If you're a fan of the anime and don't like the old style art, then you might as well buy this one since it's basically the anime with a few branching choices for extra content. And if you've already played the original Steins;Gate VN, this one does seem to have some extra content in it, but it comes at the cost of feeling like filler at times. BUT it does add some more depth to parts of the game you might have wondered about.

Overall the verdict: Buy it (and/or the original. and the sequel too)

When I was a kid, I used to go to the school library in Elementary school and pick out books about the solar system. I loved reading all about how "Mercury's orbit and rotational period are exactly 88 days so that it always keeps one face toward the sun" and stuff like that. Of course most of that is wrong/outdated information, but again, I was reading books published 20 years before I was born so that's to be expected.

Well, anyway... what we have here is a nice little tour of the Solar System and you can get pretty up-close and personal with every single planet (and a few of the major moons and other dwarf planets).

They start you out with a scale you can appreciate and then as the tour continues you get to see exactly how big (relative to Earth) Jupiter and Saturn are... Everything is shrunk down to 1/1000000th of its size but it's still pretty massive. While the graphics aren't SUPER amazing, they're still jaw dropping in scale...though that effect is lost when you reach out to grab the planet to look at it closer and now it looks like a toy on the end of a stick.

Each planet and some of the moons have trivia you can read about them. It's probably the kind of thing that 20 years from now we'll learn is wrong and/or outdated and kids in the future will roll their eyes as us when we tell them stories about how Neptune is a darker blue than Uranus even though they're both comprised of a lot of methane. "No Grampa, it's the distortion from the graviton flux caused by a disturbance in the weak force that makes it APPEAR darker... Pfft!" or something like that.

Anyway, it's not a game, there's no objective to complete. It's just a nice little guided tour through the solar system. It's still very educational, and they're still working on it in Early Access so there's a chance that there could even be updates to some of the informaton as we learn new things.

If you have an interest in Astronomy but don't care to delve into it too deeply, this is a great way to see our local neighborhood.

Thanks for the information. Looks like they were able to find a decent translator. Cool!

https://gtm.you1.cn/app/1768470/discussions/0/4522261213593117177/ Hey arleas, it looks like some people are making a translation of the previous game we talked about. They announced a recent release and posted some screenshots, the translation looks good to me. If you are interested maybe you want to follow that post.

Hi

Added to talk about some foil cards that Id like to trade with you that could benefit both of us. As you mentioned above, the trading window doesnt leave much space to communicate. :)

And no, Im not interested in your fly to kuma cards xD, nor will I harass you about them :)

Speaking of it, with the help of AI it won't be a big problem to translate game content nowadays. Idk the technique difficult to add a language, but honestly the coding language is English, how difficult would it be to add English conversation? I couldn't help to think of another theory - Have you seen people leave negative reviews "We need Chinese!", "We need Russian!" to a game to shamelessly ask for a translation? And funny, when those games add the language they still get negative reviews for the quality. So to avoid the risk above, devs probably decide not to add a new language they don't speak. How to avoid it and be cost-effective? I think the best way is to let AI translate first then ask original speakers to check.

Hey arleas, good to see you around! About your comment on my profile page, I assume you wrote in English then used AI to translate. Idk how good google translate does but your comment is perfectly understandable, and natural in a degree - I know instantly your comment comes from a translate, why? Honestly I am not sure but it could be that the words feel formal.

When you read my comment or other reviews, can you tell whether I wrote it or I used a translation? I always wrote in English. Most of my game reviews are in English but for some games only with Chinese available, it can be weird if I don't write in Chinese and The Heroes Around Me is one of them.
