Pretty much used this game to fall asleep to. I play this for a few minutes and its so relaxing I start to feel very sleepy. The game isn't boring, its just very sleepable to, whatever that means lol

Great game that stays faithful to the source material while being an absolute blast. The easter eggs are on point! Runs great as well.

This game is a masterpiece. This was my favourite game on mobile and I got pretty decent at it, the steam version is better in every way. Using the d-pad to control your movement is far superior to touch controls. The game is cheap, challenging and has a ton of content. Highly recommend it!

FOV is atrocious and the visuals do not justify the framerate (not saying the game is ugly, much the opposite actually). The game itself is fun from the hour or so that I played, but I was getting extremely nauseous playing it with the weird stutter and FOV issues. Wait for a few updates before buying.

Great remaster that stays faithful to the original while adding a boatload of content and improving the visuals without compromising on the brilliant art style. Oh and the music slaps!
Only issue I have had is with the audio. I can't use my bluetooth headphones because it cause the audio to get messed up. With Nightdive's track record, it'll be patched in no time, which is why I think it is unfair to keep this review negative.
If you already owned the game, it's a free update! If you don't own it yet, it's just 10$ and it is more than worth it. In addition to just this, you get to play Quake 2 RTX in its entirety so you're getting the damn cake and eating it!

Reminds me of the BF3 days when I used to play on a borrowed account! Phenomenal game that I highly recommend. Oh, and it'll also run on anything so don't worry.

Fantastic game. This isn't an open world game but the sheer amount of content is staggering, provided you try and explore everything under the sun. Each side mission, tomb and crypt is a unique and fun experience. The story isn't anything special but it carries the game forward and there are moments of brilliance that keep you engaged. Unlike the previous two entries in the reboot, it focuses on "tomb raiding" more than action which in my opinion makes this game overshadow it's predecessors and even the uncharted games.
The traversal tied to exploration is also challenging enough to not make it boring like the prior entries and they introduce a few new moves throughout the course of the game. As a package, it ties everything together really well and keeps you engaged.

Some of the issues I had are with the puzzles, a few of them have solutions that seem very arbitrary and some of the voice acting is terrible. I also feel like the motivation of the main antagonists is just extremely stereotypical bad guy sh*t. And if you really think about it, Lara kills hundreds throughout the course of the game and sometimes you wonder if some of these people deserve to be murdered. A lot of your enemies are just misguided and their bloodshed feels unwarranted. I think games like Metro Exodus dealt with this problem by encouraging non-lethal ways to take down your enemies giving you good karma that rewards you with a better ending.
A minor issue with the traversal worth talking about is the unclear nature of some paths unless you play on the easier difficulties. This involves some trial and error which might get frustrating, especially when some of the checkpoints make no sense, making you start from a far off point that takes a few minutes to get back to your original position.

From a technical aspect it is near flawless. There are very few bugs that I have encountered and none of them are game breaking, just minor clipping issues and some interact prompts that required multiple presses of the button to work. The game is extremely pretty and holds up very well even by 2023 standards. The raytraced shadows setting is kind of pointless as you don't notice it much unless you know what you are looking for. It also has a hefty performance penalty, going from a solid 120 fps lock to the mid 70s and sometimes the high 60s.
The game makes use of DirectX 12 and should be the go to API unless you have an older GPU that doesn't support it too well or at all. Recent games have suffered from shader compilation stutter and I'm happy to say that this game does not. There is a bit of traversal stutter, but in my playtime I could probably count the number of times it occurred in one hand.

Overall, I highly recommend this game and would encourage you to explore it's world to get everything out of it. Look for the tombs, crypts and side missions as they are very well crafted. I would recommend it at full price but the game is frequently on sale on steam and you should be able to find a key for cheap from official sellers, so do that.

Completed three books and it's sad that this game hasn't gotten the recognition it deserved. Really well written and intriguing story so far. Definitely recommend the game.
