Yes, I know they do "bi-weekly" updates where they tell you the status of development, this does not excuse the fact that we haven't had a playable build for over 2 1/2 years. Why release a game that customers can purchase in early access when they could've just waited and given us these bi-weekly updates for free? The current playable build should have been a demo for free. Absolutely unacceptable and I will not recommend you buy the game because of how shady these devs are. 3D Realms being the publisher gave me some confidence and I guess I put my trust in the wrong company. This game can come out and be stellar but I can't help but feel ripped off by supporting them in early access just to receive a newsletter.

To the devs: Shame on you for taking our money and not bothering to update the game and shame on you for still having this game up for purchase.

Clearly not for everyone, but I absolutely love it! Not worth full price though.

Visuals:
One of the worst attempts at a cel shaded art style I have ever seen. The original XIII had a far more appealing art style. The textures look...wrong and the black outlines on objects have a draw distance. The animations are stiff and the character models look off. I love the cel shaded aesthetic, but this just ain't it.

Gameplay:
Movement feels floaty, janky and frankly disgusting. The guns are not satisfying to use and have no impact. The FOV is broken. Even at 120 it feels extremely claustrophobic making it very difficult to play the game. Running lowers the FOV making me hate running in this game. I haven't progressed deep enough to critique the enemy variety but from the first few levels I played, it feels like they went for a generic shooter mixed in with the original XIII and they miserably failed.
Edit: After beating the game, I stand by this statement.

Performance:
It performs very well but given the sub-par visuals and bland environments, it better perform well. There is no shader compilation stutter and the frame-times are very solid. The settings menu is terrible with only a handful of settings and there is no upscaler (DLSS, FSR, XeSS), this is fine as I doubt most people will need one to enjoy the game. It's still unacceptable as the game had a large overhaul recently.

Some aspects of the game I liked are the music and the weapon variety, even though the weapons suck and they take away most of your weapons after a load screen checkpoint. Stay away from this game and play the original (which is still on steam and is really cheap!).

tl;dr: Do not buy this game even at a discount. Use the money you will spend on this game and buy the original XIII on steam and you can even buy a tub of ice-cream with the leftover money.

Super unique racer that is well worth the price. It takes a bit to get used to the "twin-stick" drifting, but when it does, my God is it a blast. I really like the fact that they don't give you a map, forcing you to learn each track and master it. Makes me feel like I'm Takumi taking on Mako on Usui Pass! My only real gripe with the game is the boring story. But the good thing is, you can skip it entirely!

Pro tip: Go to the audio settings and change the soundtrack to "Eurobeat", thank me later :)

Own this masterpiece on 4 different platforms now! Worth every penny. This game makes a mockery of modern AAA games.

A decent remake of the original Half-Life that goes above and beyond to stay faithful and re-imagine the game. There is some jank and the game has some horrible parts, but overall I think it's good enough to recommend.

Oh and Xen looks absolutely phenomenal. Go into it blind and it will blow you away. It is miles better than Xen in the original though I think it drags on for a bit too long.

Good mindless fun. Satisfying gunplay with solid performance unlike a lot of AAA PC ports these days.

Not worth full price, so pick it up on sale. Don't waste money on the microtransactions.

How is this worse than TLOU port? Y'all really outdid yourselves. Topping an Iron Galaxy port in terms of sucking is very impressive.

Edit: The latest update slightly improves the stuttering but it is still present and is still in an unacceptable state. Unless they update it further, I do not recommend playing this game no matter the PC you have.

Added Denuvo after launch. Pathetic.
