Absolutely one of the most surprising releases of 2020 for me, found this game only a couple weeks after release.

Despite the arguably small amount of content available at that point, the core gameplay loop is incredibly fun, and the developers are frequently releasing updates, trying to keep on top of all the requests for more content, bug fixes and optimisations.

Gunfire Reborn is a rogue-like shooter, played from the First-Person perspective. Currently, there are 3 unique characters to play as, on 3 different difficulties. Personally, I find that all 3 characters are super fun to play as, all with unique abilities and upgrade paths, with each character allowing multiple playstyles to take advantage of their specialities.
I've heard people complaining about the viability of certain characters in the higher difficulties, namely Nightmare. However, I find that all 3 are powerful in their own areas in the game, so I think part of making it work, you have to learn what makes sense to do with the build you're going for.
Gunplay isn't really innovative, but it's very smooth and feels good during gameplay. The game contains 3 elements, the base of which is Fire, Lightning and Corrosion. Each element does bonus damage against a certain health type (eg. Lightning against Shield or the Blue healthbar) and has a chance to inflict a negative effect on hit. These effects (Burning, Shock and Decay) can mix with each other to form a secondary elemental effect, and they're all very useful so try it out!
To comment on the rng-aspect of the game, I rarely feel as if I've lost through chance , but instead as a failure to be good enough to succeed.

The music overall is quite good, nothing standout but I never feel like it's bad, it never really gets in the way of gameplay which is exactly what I like.
The visuals are wonderful, I love the art direction especially with the terracotta soldiers, the different dyed enemies all give that sense of a painted army, and their designs are just very impressive overall. In gameplay, cel-shading is used to outline weapons and enemies, but not the environment, which just helps a little bit at discerning between the background and mobs. It's subtle, but noticeable.
While models and textures aren't insanely detailed, I think the simplicity works in the favour of the game, allowing you to focus on the gameplay.

This is an extremely high quality game, worth a lot more than the asking price. Absolutely buy at the base price.

I've heard shoving things up your ass is quite painful so you might want to start with something small like your intelligence and build up to bigger things like your ego
