Fun, yet simplistic hack'n'slash with several character classes and randomly generated levels. Great to kill some time in short play sessions, but repetitive in the end.

So... pretty much like Diablo 3, except way cheaper and with offline play. :>

Not much to say about the game that hasn't already been said over the years. Calling it a "masterpiece" is a bit excessive, but not unjustified. Even though I never cared about the RE series, I found RE4 to be one of the best action-adventure/survival games I've ever played. This is mostly due to some phenomenal pacing, great atmosphere, huge variety of locations, enemies, weapons, and hidden treasures, as well as a lot of replay value found in both the extensive main storyline (about 10-15 hours on average) and the arcade Mercenary mode.

That said, the game has its issues. The story and characters are laughable and uninteresting, while character and camera controls have always felt clunky and weird, regardless of what type of controller was used. This is also the case for the PC port, with mouse and keyboard controls requiring some getting used to, especially since only a small portion of the keys can be rebinded, for whatever reason. The port also suffers from some minor graphical issues, and all the "Ultimate HD" thing isn't particularly impressive, with some obvious poor textures found throughout.

Other than that though, it's still an amazing game finally running at 60fps. Definitely worth the money.

A visual-novel with an interesting story concept, but suffering from a rather poor execution.

The overall pacing is the game's weak point. The early part drags on unnecessarily, the setting isn't very well established, and when things finally start to escalate the episode suddenly ends. And even then, the events that follow the big "climax" don't seem to convey any kind of drama or consequence, but instead try to be humorous, for whatever reason. As if different parts of the story were written by different people. Not to mention, some parts of the game feature some disturbing and really forced "fanservice" that is really out of place.

Still, I can't say I disliked the game. The art style and the music are definitely its strong point. And once things started to escalate I was intrigued and enjoyed the plot and its characters, and I'd like to know how things go from there. If the developers can focus more on the world, work on the pacing, and tone down with the fanservice in the second episode, then I think I'll give it a go. As it is though, it's "only" an unfinished visual-novel with no actual gameplay to speak of.

Redshirt is both fun and funny little time waster - worth giving it a try, but definitely not worth the asking price.

The game is essentially a facebook sim/strategy set in space, full of amusing sci-fi references and parodies (mostly Star Trek). It may seem convoluted at first, but actually is fairly simple. The player has to interact with different NPCs and climb up the career ladder for one of several endings. The interactions themselves tend to be quite funny, especially if you're familiar with particular works they often reference.

Sadly, the game has some issues. Mostly bugs, including gamebreaking ones. It's also quite random and inconsistent when it comes to events and other characters' daily actions. Not to mention, it has very simple aesthetic, which may put some people off.

I'd only recommend getting Redshirt if you're into sci-fi and sim games, and if you can get it cheap. The default price is definitely way too high, but for a couple of bucks you could have some fun with it.

Well, Oniken certainly feels like an 8-bit era game... but not necessarily in a good way.

The game is full of cheap deaths, enemies tend to pop out of nowhere, levels rely on memorization through repetition, powerup content is luck-based, and the checkpoints are scarce and unforgiving. Died during a boss fight? Well, enjoy replaying a substantial portion of the level again until you're sick of it.

I get it that most of this is done on purpose. And some people will be fine with it. Some will call it a challenge and a throwback to the past. The thing is, it's not the 80s anymore and we're not forced to play this one single random game we've managed to get ourselves this month, which lasting appeal relies solely on the fact that it's unfairly difficult.

As a throwback to the past it's certainly good, in a bad way. If old-school action-platforming repetition and memorization is your thing then I guess you'll have fun with it. I surely didn't.

Baby's first tower defense. Not bad, mind you, but rather underwhelming.

The game has a couple of clever ideas and mechanics, but in the end it's laughably easy and has little to no replay value whatsoever, aside from perhaps getting all the achievements (which are mostly focused on grind, rather than skill).

The overall artstyle is cutesy and child-friendly, full of obscure references, clearly made with both kids and adults in mind. But the latter will get annoyed by it rather quickly, mostly due to repetitive sound assets. Same goes for the music, which is so terribly bland that you'll most likely end up muting it.

As for the gameplay, the puzzle-like "tower" placing seems like a decent idea at first, but sadly most of them are essentially worthless, while others are used reguarly throughout the game, making most of the levels rather tedious and boring.

It's a game you can safely give your kid to play. Other than that it can be relaxing, but you'd better get it either at a high discount or for a mobile device.

Unless you're a huge Star Trek fan you're better off avoiding this game. And even if you are a Star Trek fan this game will mostly keep your interest through character interactions and references to the series, not the actual gameplay.

Truth be told, it's not a terrible game. It's just painfully mediorce, bland, often tedious. The controls are unreliable, the shooting doesn't feel good due to extremely dull weapons, co-op activities are pointless and thrown in for the sake of it, the minigames become annoying after a while, and all the stealth or platforming segments are more frustrating than enjoyable. The game is also full of bugs, some of which can even make certain levels incompletable, and the overall story is nothing to brag about and certainly won't keep anyone's interest.

Yet the worst thing about the game is that it could have been actually good. There are a few decent moments or ideas throughout, the music is nice, with many tracks from the new movies, all characters are voiced by their respective actors, and even though the graphics are poor the overall visuals are quite nice and faithful to the source material.

As it is though, the game's just not worth it. It's not the worst movie licensed title out there, but it's still not enough to recommend it, even to Star Trek fans.

One of the most pretentious and joyless games I've played in a long while. So predictable, cliche, corny and full of uninspired design decissions that it's just painfull.
It all felt like some kind of attempt at mixing every bland and overused gaming feature from the last several years with evenly bland, overdramaticised and predictable plot. As if the zombie apocalypse setting wasn't sickening enough on its own, the graphics are like every single pseudo-artistic indie physics platformer since Limbo, the cut-scenes try way too hard to copy Ashley Wood's motion comics, the story is a poor man's The Walking Dead mixed with Resident Evil, and our bland protagonist is forced to have some obvious hurrdurr grimdark past he has to atone for (because "teh drama").
And keeping with gaming tradition of having an obligatory sewer level Deadlight has a full sewer CHAPTER, together with cheap deaths, frustrating controls and mandatory physics puzzles...

Took 4 hours to beat, yet felt like forever. Avoid.
