Played during the Free Weekend. It's "all right". Nothing more, nothing less. If you're looking for a simple RTS with a handful of fresh ideas then Halo Wars is a decent pick, especially considering there's really not much else to choose from at the moment when it comes to this genre.

The Campaign is rather short, with only 15 linear missions for one faction, most of which revolve around a gimmick or mechanic, often forcing you to race against the clock. Some will like this 'fast-paced' gameplay, others won't, as there's really not many opportunities to simply build a base. The weird thing was the inconsistent tech tree in each mission. A unit you've relied on in one scenario may not even be available in the next one for whatever reason.

The PC port is good, but it's clear the game was made for a console. There's really no unit commands to speak of, aside from their special abilities, and the pathfinding is awful. On the plus side, units can fire while moving, so you could say it's a mechanic of its own.

You can finish the campaign in 8 hours or so. If you care for the achievements then there are some optional objectives, scores to improve etc. Other than that, there's your standard skirmish stuff with several 'commanders' for two factions, multiplayer, co-op etc. Personally, I wasn't hooked enough to even bother playing more than the campaign, and even that one wasn't anything special from the story side. I couldn't care less about Halo universe, and on it's own it's rather simple and underwhelming affair.

That said, the game is all right. Certainly not bad, worth checking out. Might be a nice change of pace from Starcraft 2.

I might have been more lenient towards this title, despite all the mobile/microtransaction/time-gating/grind stuff, if it had anything resembling actual gameplay to begin with. It's not a brainless clicker, it's not a card game, not a strategy game... I'm not sure what it is, honestly. You collect your crew cards with various stats, send them on missions that require given stats, collect rewards, upgrade stuff, struggle with awful and unintuitive interface, rinse and repeat. Most of it is just moving icons and portraits, while the occasional 3D space battles play themselves automatically, with the player only having to activate cooldown based skills from time to time. Everything else pretty much boils down to obtaining "cards" with better stats and upgrading said stats with with all your basic crafting stuff, items, equipment, boosters, and so on. Naturally, resources required to do so are numerous, many of which quite difficult to obtain without spending real money.

And of course you're bombarded with all the microtransaction stuff from the get-go. You can't even launch the game without having to close the "limited time super premium only 25€ special bundle" popup. But why would you spend real money on some portraits and boosters in a "game" that's pretty much just grind and flashy menus? Well, you could say there is a story here, but it's really silly, and the dialogues are laughably bad. Not even Q voiced by John de Lancie can help it.

The PC Port is really poor as well. The graphics are ugly, there are no options to speak of, and the interface is poorly designed and unintuitive, even for a mobile title.

If you want a decent Star Trek experience, just play Star Trek Online. It's also free to play, the business model is great, and you can enjoy it at your own leisure, without encountering any serious barriers or paywalls. You can even send static portraits on missions there as well, through the Duty Officer system.

And if you really just want a simple mobile game, there are way better titles out there that are way more enjoyable, rewarding, and wallet-friendly. That said, you're still better off just doing anything else with your time. And if you're really desperate for Star Trek stuff, just buy yourself some starship models to put on your shelf, not several times more expensive polygons that will be gone in a couple of years or so after they turn off the game servers.

It's not a good game. It really isn't. HuniePop was unique, self-aware and clever in many ways, but was also a mechanically good game as a whole. HunieCam Studio in comparison is just a very, VERY simplistic tycoon / cowclicker with an adult theme. And it's mostly the theme that makes it somewhat enjoyable and funny at times. Without it, there wouldn't be anything worth attention here.

A single game session lasts only for a couple of hours, during which you try to maximise your profits running a cam girl studio. There isn't much strategy to speak of, as you'll find an optimal way after a couple of playthroughs. It all comes down to managing your girls and holding the mouse button over specific buildings to speed things up and to collect stuff. Yeah, it's a cowclicker more than anything else. But hey, at least there are no microtransactions! Um, yay...?

You'll probably have a few laughs here and there, realise how miserable you are playing such a game, feel bad for giving your girls worst STDs imagineable, and earn a few dong trophies, which you can then showcase on your Steam profile to show how immature you are. I know I did... Just look at all those dongs!

No wonder people avoid me...

I'm giving the game a thumb up solely for the theme, dong trophies, and the fact that it's just brainless fun. And sometimes you just need something simple to waste time on. Other than that though, it's not a good game, and it's nowhere near the level of HuniePop, which you should play instead if you want something funny and challenging.

This game. Is. A public loo. And. Admires. Your hat. Mate!

That's the type of "insults" you'll be hearing a lot here. Well, I guess it can be funny... if you're twelve. Or drunk enough...

But seriously, the game's concept is clever, the artstyle is nice, and there are some decent mechanics and strategies to use. But the theme gets old and repetitive very quickly. There are actually very little words you can use and most of the time the sentences make absolutely no sense, or don't end up even being insulting in any way. Yet you have to work with what you're given to defeat your opponent. You may get a few laughs out of it if you're lucky enough to get some decent words during a round, but most of the time you'll be hearing utter nonsense, as long as it's grammatically correct. Yes, "hearing", because all the individual words or phrases are pre-recorded and then spoken in full sentence in a very robotic way, like through some poor voice synthesizer.

That said, the game's price is adequate. You may get a few laughs out of it, but don't expect it to entertain you for more than an hour or so. I'd give thumbs up for the theme and the idea, but thumbs down for the gameplay.

Bloody difficult, but highly entertaining. Steredenn is like a shmup FTL. You'll die horribly again and again not even being close to the final boss, but you'll keep on playing because each playthrough is completely different. Levels, enemies, waves, bosses, weapons, and upgrades - rarely you'll end up with the same experience. But despite the random nature and high difficulty, the game doesn't seem unfair (like Jets'n'Guns, for example...). Once you'll learn different enemy types and boss patterns then it all (well, mostly) comes down to skill.

Most importantly, the core gameplay is quite enjoyable, thanks to really tight controls, tons of fun and varied weapon types, great pixel artstyle and glorious metal soundtrack. Strong recommendation, even though it could have been even better in some places.

NOPE... I'm done...

I really wanted to like this game. And I think I would have if it wasn't so bloody unfair and frustrating. It's not that it's just difficult. The problem is that the difficulty comes from very cheap and poorly indicated enemy movements. You may be a few minutes into the level only to die in a mere second from an enemy flying from behind your back and coliding with you, forcing you to restart. There are checkpoints, but they are rather scarce. And unlike many proper bullet hells, here there's so much going on on the screen, with stuff coming from all directions, that dodging everything is impossible. You may take some hits, but once you collide with something your health drops drastically.

It's sad, because everything else is great. The graphics, the sound effects, the soundtrack, tons of customization and a nice upgrade system. It would have been great, but the difficulty simply kills all the enjoyment. And I really hate when games rely on memorization through repetition to even beat a level.

I'd say that if you've got the patience to repeat the same level segments over and over only to get them right after tons of deaths, and the overall style of J'n'G appeals to you, then you could consider the purchase. However if you just wanted a shmup that's accessible and fair, easy to get into, but difficult to master, then look elsewhere, cause this one is difficult to get into...

Star Trek Online has changed in various major ways since this Starter Pack was originally released, but the pack itself remained unchanged, both in terms of its content, and the price.

So here's the deal - there's NOTHING here that will impact your starting gameplay experience in any major way. All the listed Mk II items and Bridge Officers are not that great, even for early levels, and are not really that useful. You'll find better gear just by leveling and you'll dump these quickly.

Aside from that, the Starter Pack contains:
  • A "Steam Powered" title, that appears over your character if you set it up. Useless "decoration".
  • Resonance Cascade Modulator - a unique console to use on any ship, which may be fun for a while when leveling, but ends up being useless at the endgame.
  • Tier 1 Steamrunner Class ship - basically a different starting ship than the default one. You'll fly it for an hour or two before moving on to much better stuff.
  • Tier 5 Steamrunner Class ship - a quite good tactical ship for endgame content. The thing is, with the level cap increase some time ago Cryptic introduced Tier 6 ships, which are objectively better. You will be able to upgrade the Tier 5 Steamrunner to a better variant if you'll buy a Ship Upgrade Token, but it still won't be AS good as any proper Tier 6. More on that later.
  • Admirality Ship Cards for both the ships, to use in the Admirality System. Very useful regardless of how many ship cards you have.

All the items above are unique to the Steam Starter Pack and cannot be obtained in any other way. Also, the pack is purely for Federation players - there is nothing for Klingons or Romulans.

It may seem weird to pay for content that's kind of outdated, but truth be told, you can still get a lot out of it. The Tier 5 ship may not be as good, or as interesting as many of the new Tier 6 ships, but it's still really effective and competitive in all types of content. I'm still flying the Steamrunner on my main character, despite having access to nearly any other ship in the game that may be considered "better". It all comes to looks and preferences, as Star Trek Online is in a state where you can be competitive in nearly any ship, as long as you know what you're doing.

In short, I'd say the pack is worth getting at a discount if you like the Steamrunner's design. Plus you'll get two Admirality Ship Cards which surely will come useful. Other than that though it's hard to recommend the pack to an average player, as there are many other more interesting offers in the game.

There isn't much point in describing what Danganronpa 2 is if you haven't played the first one. In short, it's a linear story-heavy visual novel with grotesque and adult theme and "puzzle" elements in the form of Phoenix Wright style trials. If that's your thing, then go play, or read about the first game. If it's not, then at the very least do the latter, because the series is quite unique in nearly every aspect and may convince you anyway.

When it comes to Danganronpa 2 I can safely say it's a really good sequel. The story features new characters and setting, the gameplay has been improved, new features have been added, and the music and visuals are just as good and unique as last time. It's a great game that surely all fans of the previous one will appreciate.

BUT... that said, it is difficult to avoid comparisons to the previous game, and as such my opinion will probably sound a bit negative. I hear many people consider the sequel to be better. Sadly, I don't agree. Story-wise, it's kind of a similar killing-game with a deeper mystery, just in a different setting. As much as I was engaged and surprised by numerous "twists", there were a lot of really silly, or just idioitc moments, especially by the end. Same goes for characters, which I don't consider as charismatic as the ones from the previous game. Most of them are just irritating and rarely there's anything redeeming about them. They feature one or two personality traits for the entire game (unless they die, that is) and that's it, which is sad, especially when a single joke is being run into the ground repeatedly for hours. Of course there are exceptions, but that's what they are. Personally, I didn't really care for the majority of characters, while the overall story didn't leave as much of an impression as the first game. But as I've said - that's in comparison, because as a whole it's still quite good and engaging, with a lot of nice twists.

As for the gameplay, one should appreciate how the developers tried to improve on the existing features and add some new ones. Some of these changes work, others not so much. I really enjoyed the fact that you can agree with a character's statement, instead of just pointing out holes and mistakes constantly. At the same time I hated the new Rebuttal Showdown mechanic, which is just a button masher. And being time-limited it makes it hard to focus on what the character is saying. I also didn't really see the point of Logic Drive. Although answering questions in such way is quite clever, it also tends to drag on unnecessarily later on.

My biggest issue with the game I think is the fact that many answers or statements you have to shoot at are very arbitrary and not always logical. With more than six Truth Bullets available during Non-Stop Debates picking the right combination often comes down to luck or trial and error. I didn't have such issues with the previous game, while this time even though I knew what the issue was, finding the right way for the character to point it out was problematic more often than not.

You could say I'm nitpicking, but I just think the game could have been much better in some areas. As it stands, it's still great, but just not as great as the first one. At least in my opinion. That said, if you enjoyed the first game, there's really not much reason in not playing the second one.

"Z" is a game about fighting terrible controls and user interface, as well as training your pro-gamer APM skills by managing braindead units with some huge pathfinding issues.

I can't remember whether the original DOS version of the game had similar issues, but this mobile port is just awful. It's not just unintuitive touchscreen controls that ruin the gameplay, but also the aforementioned buggy unit movement will certainly test your patience. The fact that the game is really, really slow just emphasizes this issue even more.

And to be honest, the game itself isn't that great either. Nostalgia glasses off, the core concept is quite original for its time, and the artstyle really has a lot of charm, but when you think about it it's all about rushing early with initial units to get as many territories and abandoned vehicles as possible. The more territories you own, the quicker you produce units. There's little to no way of making a strategic comeback if one side owns way more territories than the other.

Plus, the game is SO SLOW. Perhaps it's the increased FOV that makes it more noticeable, but it takes forever for units to move across the map. To the point you sometimes wonder whether they're moving at all. The irony is, it's also the shortest campaign I've ever played in an RTS, finished in about 3 hours.

Just don't bother. Even if you enjoyed the original game you'll only end up annoyed by the terrble user interface and horrendous pathfinding issues. Not to mention, a lot of the original content has been cut from this version.

Really well made nostalgia trip for any jRPG fan, but not necessarily a good game on its own. Evoland takes you through the "evolution" of the genre with ideas and mechanics taken from titles such as Zelda, Final Fantasy, and even Diablo. It's really clever, original and quite accurate, as it shows not only how the games changed from the gameplay standpoint, but also on the audiovisual level.

That said, on its own Evoland is not a great game. It's simple, linear, often tedious. About halfway through you unlock the "final" graphics style, but there's still a lot to do. At this point the game starts to drag on, as none of the combat systems is fleshed out, enemy variety is very small, levels are hard to navigate without a map, and the story is basic and straightforward.

I'd still recommend it as a cute and funny experience. Any person familiar with some of the old-school RPGs will find a lot of references here. Plus, the game isn't long, so it may be worth getting during a sale.
