I honestly couldn't care less about Homefront: The Revolution, but the game contains an easter egg in the form of playable TimeSplitters 2. Normally it's just two story levels available from an arcade machine in-game, but either with cheats or with mods (TS2Redux) you can play the whole full version of TimeSplitters 2 natively on PC, with mouse and keyboard support. Story, Arcade, Challenges and all that. The mod also allows you to launch TS2 directly, skipping the Homefront menus, or even to remove Homefront files, leaving only TimeSplitters 2 installed.

So my recommendation is for "TimeSplitters 2 Redux", which is a great and funny console FPS. This "easter egg" alone makes buying Homefront: The Revolution worth it, especially at a discount.

Ok, so let's get the obvious stuff out of the way first:
- This is NOT a Metal Gear game. It's hardly even a spinoff.
- Fu.cKonami for what they did with Kojima, and their overall business practicess.
- No, seriously, Fu.cKonami

With that out of the way I'll just say it briefly - Metal Gear Survive is 'all right', if not pretty good, for what it is.

It's an 'all right' zombie survival game using the MGSV/Fox Engine, as well as MGSV aesthetic. It has little to do with Metal Gear lore, to the point it's better to ignore the title/story whatsoever and just focus on the zombie/survival stuff.

I bought the game on the spur of the moment after watching some YouTube video, which - in contrast to the majority of other YT materials on the game - wasn't all that negative. And since I personally enjoyed MGSV gameplay I figured I'll give Metal Gear Survive a chance, especially since it was pretty cheap.

And truth be told, despite its flaws, I was hooked on the game from the get-go. It may be just a MGSV zombie re-skin, but it's honestly not quite bad. Dare I say, it's pretty well made and well thought-out.

The gameplay loop of exploring the map, collecting resources, building a base, researching new technologies/equipment etc. is really addictive and oddly satisfying. The Fox Engine works quite well with the theme, and the game is build around the whole survival pretty well. The story can easily be ignored, especially since it's only a small part of the overall experience, which opens up fully after the main storyline is finished. Some people may take issue with the "live-service" style of the game, but for me personally - being a solo player anyway - it wasn't much of an issue and I enjoyed playing the game long after finishing the story.

I'd lie if I'd say the game is without issues. Objectively it may even be classified as mediocre. My biggest gripe would be the overwhelming grayness, as well as always-online requriement. But throughout the whole time I spent with Metal Gear Survive I hardly experienced any major issues or bugs. On the contrary, I was enjoying some ideas and mechanics, as well as numerous secrets and unlocks, including the fanservice. It was oddly satisfying to sneak up on zombies, or develop both the main character and the base. The audio is surprisingly good, so at times the game works well even as a horror-type experience.

In general, if you're fine with ignoring all the background regarding Konami and their treatment of Hideo Kojima, and are willing to approach Metal Gear Survive with an open mind for what it is, then give this game a chance, because it can be quite fun. I was honestly surprised how engaged I was for over 100 hours of playtime. And if I did care about all the live-service/multiplayer stuff then I imagine I'd play the game even more. It's nowhere near as good as MGSV, but it's not a cheap cash-grab some people make it out to be.

It's Picross with Miku...

That's it. Not much to add, really...

Logic Paint S is fine, but a bit overpriced and doesn't have anything special going for it, aside from unlocking Miku art and music.

Don't bother, unless you're a Miku weeb. Pictopix is better and cheaper. Still, it's a fine game to kill some time, but you may want to consider the mobile version, which is cheaper and actually decent, even for non-Miku fans.

Atlus royally f*cked up an otherwise good game...

Despite numerous issues I honestly had way more fun with Soul Hackers 2 than I had with SMT5. It's a decent spinoff of the Megami Tensei series with a lot of good ideas. The story is decent, but the main focus are the characters, which are memorable and very likable throughout the game, especially Ringo. The battle system is good and strategic, despite it using a different mechanic than the Press Turn System. There are some neat ideas borrowed from the Persona series, similar to Social Links, as well as some satisfying customization when leveling your characters. And despite the fact the graphics look like a forgotten PS2 or Wii game, the artstyle is satisfying enough, and the music is great and varied.

Why so much negative and/or mixed reviews then? Mostly because Atlus got greedy and/or lazy by releasing a pseudo-next-gen title for a full price, with a bunch of expensive day-one DLCs, which include an additional story arc as well. But that's modern Atlus for you. This alone wouldn't be too much of an issue if they didn't make the core gameplay so slow, monotonous and repetitive... It's not just the fact that the game is a dungeon crawler, but that all of the locations look empty, bland and samey, while the music doesn't change at all for the majority of the exploration... There's basically one BGM for story dungeons, and one BGM for Soul Matrix. And you'll be hearing it so much it starts to get painful at one point. And that's my biggest issue with the game. I have no idea what Atlus were thinking leaving exploration like that, especially after experiencing the last portion of the game, which suddenly introduced variety both in terms of visuals and BGM. Too little too late, sadly.

There are some minor issues as well, like the difficulty, which isn't demanding at all on Normal (I suggest playing on Hard for a decent challenge, but even that isn't too demanding compared to other SMT entries). The side-quests are decent, but most of them require re-visiting of already explored locations. And with the main character moving incredibly slow it's yet another tedious element that could have been much better with some additional work and effort...

It's just really sad to see how a series of poor decissions on Atlus' part pretty much resulted in a mediocre game. The fact that Persona 5 Royal is just around the corner certainly doesn't help the already poor sales.

That said, I did enjoy the Soul Hackers 2, despite its flaws, and I can't say I don't recommend it. But unless you're a really big fan of the Megami Tensei series, then definitely wait for a sale. There's a good game here, and the character interactions alone are a reason to experience it, but be prepared for some tedious and repetitive sections during the dungeon crawling.

UPDATE:
A recent patch has added a few quality of lite improvements, one of which is the ability to Dash indefinitely. This makes the dungeon crawling much less time-consuming and more tolerable.

Now that the Costume & BGM Pack DLC actually works properly... I'd say it's fine.

You don't need it, by any means. It's purely aesthetic. But I'm fine with it being a bonus DLC. That is, definitely way more than the Bonus Demon Pack...

I enjoy the DLC mostly for Raidou Kuzunoha and Soul Hackers 1 outfits and music. For one reason or another both fit Soul Hackers 2 very well. And, I have to admit, Ringo in Raidou Kuzunoha's outfit looks really damn good...

That said, unless you really want or need some variety for your gameplay, it's safe to skip this one.

Locking iconic demons behind an overpriced Day-1 DLC is one thing, but the fact that you can summon any of them for free at any point regardless of your character level makes this DLC a cheat / pay-to-win. That is, unless you restrict yourself from using the demon compendium.

Honestly, the demons are iconic, but you don't really need them at any point in the game, nor you'll actually see them that much outside of Sabbath animations. So unless you buy this at a huge discount, or as part of a bundle, don't bother.

Atlus really needs to tone down with this kind of DLC. Especially on Day-1.

The best Ace Combat game since The Belkan War.

Because this might very well be an entry in the Ace Combat series. The game is so similar, anyone familiar with AC will feel right at home moments after starting Project Wingman.

In some ways PW is better than AC. The gunplay feels better and more powerful. The audio is magnificent, and there are more gameplay modes, including VR.

The only major downside is mission variety, or lack thereof. Nearly all the missions revolve around destroying everything. And even though there are numerous twists and events, the Ace Combat series offered more variety in that regard.

Still, I've had way more fun with Project Wingman than with Ace Combat 7, and I think any Ace Combat fan should definitely play Project Wingman.

So here's the thing. Back in the day I had absolutely no idea what Hatsune Miku was, nor was I any particular fan of rhythm games.

Several years ago, after purchasing my first PS3, I've started browsing the PSN, checking out various games and demos. One of them was a rhythm game - Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F. I thought to myself "Oh look, a weeb game for no-lifes about underage anime lolitas. This must be dumb and childish and certainly cannot actually be fun in any real way, right...?".
But I've downloaded the demo anyway, out of curiosity. And... about an hour later I was playing the full version.
I cannot even say exactly what was it that hooked me on. I sucked hard at the rhythm game at first, and the japanese music was really weird. But it was... something new, something unique. Each music video was special in its own way, kind of beautiful. The "anime" characters were like actors, and the rhythm game itself was often cleverly integrated into the background scenes themselves.

It took me a while to realize that I was playing the game with an honest smile on my face...

To put it simply, I had FUN. Fun I didn't expect to have, but fun that was present with every other Hatsune Miku game that I bought and played.

And I bought pretty much all of them... Some of them multiple times, to be honest. I've became obsessed, in a way. Someone might say that I'm crazy, or call me one of those japan/anime weaboos that sleeps with their weird character pillows or whatever, but that's not really the case (HONEST...!). The pure, simple fact is that Hatsune Miku and "her" rhythm game series makes me HAPPY. Happy to play the game, to listen to the varied music, to watch the original and unique music videos. And I'm not ashamed to admit that, regardless of what people might say. Hatsune Miku as a character, as well as her other Vocaloid friends, are all cheerful, colorful, funny. Kind of giving this positive, optimistic vibe. And with video games being a form of escapism for me, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is almost perfect in that role.

What about Project Diva Mega Mix+ itself? I may have not played it much (yet), but I've already played Future Tone (PS4 ver.) and Mega Mix (Switch ver.) for countless hours and I can happily say that the PC version is a pretty much a perfect mix of both versions (although it's based on the Switch one). A "definitive edition". It runs very well, looks great, and allows for two different visual styles and various button prompts. The only downside for me personally is that you can only bind two different buttons for the main "notes", whereas in the console versions you could bind the gamepad buttons freely, without restrictions. But that's a minor thing and I'm already trying out different options for a change.

I'm just happy that the game finally came out on PC, my platform of choice, and I have no regrets buying and playing it literally for the fourth time.

I honestly love this game, for one reason or another. Strong recommendation, especially if you want something colorful and positive for a change, even if you're not a huge fan of rhythm games.

A true labor of love.
Depression healer.
Inexpensive, yet extensive.
Frequently updated and expanded.
The best "Harvest Moon" game to date.

It's not about the "premise" of the game, which may seem silly at first glance. It's about how the game makes you feel, and the pleasant, relaxed state it puts you in while playing.

Can't recommend Stardew Valley enough. A true masterpiece.

Yes, it's a Hentai game...

BUT...

It's actually surprisingly good and fun to play.

I couldn't care less about Mirror's "story", but the Match-3 mechanics combined with some light RPG elements are actually well thought-out and executed. The visuals (yes, including the H-Art...) are pretty, the music is nice, the achievements are manageable, and - most important of all - the game is dirt-cheap.

So if you like Match-3 games and aren't bothered by the fact you'd be playing a weeb/perverted/hentai game on your Steam account, then by all means, give Mirror a go. It's no Huniepop, but it's still a good game of its type.

And, again, the price is a steal.
