This game is a classic, now mainly played by the older community (probably because they didnt like the changes to CS:GO) due to things such as the original buying system for weapons etc. Changes from the original counter-strike include things like.. Improved graphics and physics. You can now smash through some crates, computers and plenty of other items littering the levels. Glass, when hit by a bullet or knife, only falls away in a small radius around the point of impact, so it now takes another bullet or somebody jumping through the frosted effect of the cracked remnants to make it through completely. You can no longer penetrate two-foot walls with bullets, and a grenade going off on the other side of a wall will no longer hurt you anywhere near as much, but you can still send bullets through boxes, cupboard doors and the like. Water now splashes visually as well as audibly, giving the defending side on maps like Aztec a bit of an advantage in locating intrepid aggressors. And hostages are now capable of following you without getting stuck so easily. Like the old game - the community is very large and extra's are available for download, such as maps/textures and mod's for those who own servers.

The best thing about counter-strike source is the gameplay, which is fun, quick and hard to stop when you are good! You can however.. easily load the game, play for 20mins and stop (but still feel addicted to come back and play again whenever you feel the need to shoot some players). The maps give you multiple but limited choices to how you approach each round and which way you're going to run, paired with the fact each time you can choose a different gun and see if your opponents have changed strategy as well! If you're reading this review - I'm suprised, it's an old game but well worth playing still, I reviewed it as it's my first review for steam and one I know the best (trying to slowly get a badge or whatever, lol).
