Pretty perfect game. No complaints. Great action RPG. Might get a tad grindy at times for various crafting equipment, but it's never that bad.

At first this game might not come off as a traditional metroidvania, but just give it some time. You'll soon be replaying each level multiple times over in order to unlock various items for progression. While I might like Pirate's Curse a tad more, this is still a fantastic Shantae entry. Definitely worth the pick up. Pirate Queen's Quest is also a really good DLC (if you don't want to get the ultimate edition instead of this version..).

Just a fantastic adventure with characters that you'll swiftly grow attached to. I'll be honest, I basically button mashed my battles from start to finish, so don't be daunted by having dozens of swappable attacks and patterns. A fair amount of side missions (honestly, I could have stood for a few extra). Beautiful landscapes. If you're looking for a solid action RPG, this is definitely in the top creme of what's available.

Toward the end, I'll be honest, I started skipping a few of the "extra team chit-chats", but better over abundant & skippable than not enough. Don't get me wrong, I listened to most, but toward the end more than I cared for. Note: not only are they skippable, you can choose whether or not to even trigger them. They offer a little extra character depth.

Gonna end this review by just stating that the game ran flawlessly for me on PC. Perfectly smooth. I used an XB1 controller. Super simple control scheme. Can't comment on kb&m controls, didn't experience them.

Solid game, absolutely. A tad tough at time, no doubt about it, but absolutely worth the time. I suppose I sorta wish there were even more upgrades, possibly a DLC expansion or perhaps even, after completing the final boss, a way to open up map markers for missed upgrades. As it is, I'm probably just going to consider myself retired from the game after my successful run, delete, and move onto other titles. Map reveal would certainly give me a guided reason to dive back into the world and spend a bit more time there, Buuuuuuut 17 hours for the cost I paid (granted, probably 2 of those hours were probably spent afk) for the price I paid; certainly already worth it. I'm definitely not claiming that I didn't get enough bang for my buck.
As far as Steam is concerned, You've got your Hollowknight, Ori, Bloodstained, Shadow Complex, Shantae & I reckon you could include this MindSeize within the top metroidvania style titles available (yeah, I dug this more than Axiom Verge)

[edit] - It may be important to note that I specifically waited to play the game AFTER achievements were patched in (to be more specific, I began my game run yesterday 4-4-20). I only state this in order to supply the statement that my run had very few bugs. None that were game breaking.

Some examples: 1. Sometimes while wall jumping not being able to spring from left to right & just jumping and inexplicably being forced up one side of a wall. 2. character freezing temporarily. 3. character only facing one direction temporarily. 4. while fighting an enemy too close to the side of a screen that transitions to a new screen, I might occasionally/rarely get stuck (I died only once due to this).

Really, honestly, the bugs were pretty rare & I wouldn't say they ruined my experience, Not by a long shot. & I'll again state, I'd love for the developers to do more with this engine/world/characters.

Just an absolutely incredible franchise. I really hope the rest of the series makes it to PC.
The main campaign is edge of your seat entertainment. The gameplay offers fun combat. There are side missions & minigames to entertain you for days. Just perfect.

Not quite Yakuza Zero, but, hey, this is where it all started. I never played the original version, but this Kiwami version is pretty fantastic; granted, I felt like I had as much pocket racer, bowling, and batting minigames as I cared to enjoy while playing Zero, Buuuuuuut I suppose it adds some voluntary padding that is easy enough to avoid if you don't wish to partake again. Overall totally worth playing. Everything comes off ass 100% serious and totally comic intense at the same time,
Hopefully Sega adds the recently Remastered sequels soon.

You'll have a great time if you specifically target tracking down side & campaign missions. Even just roaming the country side will entertain you for a while. There's lots of hunting & locations to explore. Me, I did a lot of exploring at the beginning & kinda got burnt out on that aspect. Ultimately the actual missions are where you'll find real entertainment. Sure, you can go after gang hideouts again after a few in game days pass, but most battles will otherwise seem far & scattered.
The landscape & world is grand & gorgeous. Maybe a tad too grand in scale (though I reckon any less would be a detractor of the beauty. Still, you will often find yourself getting bored of travel & anxious for action. Fortunately, when the action hits, it tends to be good.

My advice: pick up the game.

Excellent Game. Don't focus on the main campaign, Enjoy the city. So much side activity (not just side missions) is available for you to sink your teeth in. The main campain IS great, I'm just saying there's so much more.

Also, Sega, that portion of the game where it's an on-rails shooter in the car crossing the bridge? I'd be down for a whole game of that design. A real treat.

A lot of fun, kinda overly tricky at a few points. Might require looking up a tip or two.. Over all, really need 3 dimensional metroidvania style adventure.

34hrs of gameplay & all achievements; I reckon that might make me somewhat qualified to drop a review. Honestly, I don't love the game. The platforming is pretty awesome in an eventually rather tough/annoying sort of way (NOT EASY). The dialogue is pretty amusing, the characters are interesting enough, & the art is pretty damn good. I'm really not a fan of the fighting mechanic. It works, but I'm not going to compliment other than to say that it is unique.

Overall, I'm glad that I picked the game up. I suppose I would suggest giving it a chance hopefully at discount.
Again, the platforming is easily the best element of the gameplay.
