Howdy Gamers!

It's your current President and loving founder Drew here, just wanting to get in contact with the club members both new and old! The new quarter is on the horizon and that means a new year of gaming, partying and making friends! This year looks to be huge, which is staggering being that last year set a pretty awesome precedent! SpoKlash! will be back this spring, bigger, better and more EXTREME! That said, we want to cater to more than just our fighting game enthusiasts out there, so we promise to have more tournaments, more variety, and more parties than ever before! This year we are going to ROCK THIS SCHOOL INSIDE OUT!

If you're new to the club, WELCOME! We're glad to have you and can't wait to meet you in person when the new school year starts! There are a few things I would recommend for getting started. First off, we're on Facebook! If you're on the largest social network in the world, please take a moment to join the club here! On the contrary, if you joined through facebook and would like to be on our mailing list, send us an email at sfccgamersclub@gmail.com and we'll be sure to add you! The email is probably the best way to get in contact with us with any issues, suggestions or the like. We're also on Steam, Xfire, and Xbox LIVE! PSN is a little more difficult being that it doesn't share friends of friends the same way LIVE does. Right now we're making the final decisions on what will become our permanent website so we'll keep you posted on that. These are the best ways to get involved and stay in contact with the club!

So now that you're connected to your fellow gamers in almost every way imaginable, we should go over the events for this quarter and year! We already have a few plans in the works, but the ultimately it is our members who decide what we do in a quarter! So here's what's in the works now:

That sounds like a lot, I know, but the reality is we can do so much more! That's where you come in! Let us know what you want to do, what you're playing, what's coming out that you might be excited for! Tell us! If you don't feel like sending us an email or message, bring your ideas to the meetings or hang with us in our usual hangout, the Cafeteria! Ideas for new events, suggestions to make current ones better, even games for game days, we want to hear what you want! SO DO IT! This year we want our members to be involved and connected!

Let's work hard to grow the gaming community for both the school and for all of Spokane!

Sorry for the late email. Blame Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Anyway, being that it's late, I'm afraid I'll only have time for announcements this go around. So lets begin!

FPS Game Day 03/05/10

First Person Shooter for all you laymen-types. This Friday will be FPS day. We're gunna bring some consoled in to the rec center at around 11 and rock some classics such as Halo, Borderlands, and maybe even some GoldernEye! Come join us and kill your friends! :P

Big Brothers Big Sisters Luncheon 03/13/10

On Saturday the 13th we've rented out the rec center to give the Bigs and Littles of BBBS a treat by having them come visit for lunch and some gaming. We've already had a grip of RSVPs so our gift to their cause shall not go overlooked. Sadly this is only for the BBBS folks and the Club Officers who will be helping run the event, but don't fret! You'll get yours!

Gamers Club Winter Quarter LAN Party! 03/20/10

And this is what you get! The following Saturday we rented out the usual spot for our quarterly LAN party! Bring your computer, hang out, munch, and rock some games with your fellow club members! More details to come!

That's about all of the official news we have for this week, but because I am a shameless ♥♥♥♥♥ I'm going to take a moment to fill you in on a project I'm working on.

I've started a webcomic called MinMaXed that so far, from what I can tell, people are enjoying. I am having tons of fun making the comics and posting them and it's always been a passion of mine to combine my art and my comedy. Gamers Club News

We had a pretty good last couple weeks (sorry about the lack of email last week). Our Fighting Game Day last week had one of the largest Game Day turn-outs yet, peaking at around 30 people! This week looks to be a double whammy as our normal Game Day will be sharing the spotlight with our Magic: the Gathering WorldWake release tournament. Here are the details:

Friday 02/05:

M:tG WorldWake Release Party
Format: Draft (3 WW packs)
Time: 12:PM
Place: SFCC Campus, SUB Cafeteria, Atrium area
Cost: $10 per person

Game Day
What: Whatever we feel like bringing :P
Time: 11:AM
Place: SFCC Campus, SUB Rec Center
Cost: FREE! LOL!

I would also like to reiterate that the Magic tournament IS sanctioned so please have your DCI number handy or be prepared to fill out a new one.
