So how does it work now on 24H2?
I've read the game is finally "working" after patch 1.4.1 on 24H2... how does it run? Does it still require a better compatibility fix from MS?

I'm on 24H2 and have been playing exclusively on 1.4.1 onwards with various Nvidia drivers and I gave up due to stability issues. Crash to desktop at least once per hour (variable from 5 mins to the whole hour), huge performance drops and popins when moving quickly between areas (eg on a speeder), weird glowing characters with ray reconstruction on. There are threads for all of these issues on steam and many dont seem to have been mitigated. I initially assumed some of this was a VRAM limit issue (and it may well be) but dropping resolution and or settings never eliminated it. Nvida recently released a hotfix which claims to improve stability in Ubisoft games, but it seems that that also introduces issues elsewhere so I'm waiting for the monthly driver.

Essentially for me the game has been a perfect storm of Ubisoft bugs, Win 24H2 issues and recent Nvidia drivers possibly being less stable than they ought to be. That being said I've only had crashes in this game (aside from a freeze in gow2 after an hour, fixed by an Nvidia patch for the issue) so I think it probably can be laid at Ubisoft's door.
The game itself is worth a try, 2 hours will give you a rough feel for it so my advice is try it if you want to but keep an eye on the refund window closing if its unstable.

My specs to give you a rough idea:
5900x
32Gb ram
3080 10Gb
980 pro ssd
targeting 1440p dlss quality (various graphics settings tried, in particular rtxdi has a huge impact on perf sometimes)

Thank you for detailed report
Non-stop crashing and this was BEFORE update 24H2 was installed, haven't tried it since. Microsoft and their updates always seem to break Ubisoft games so I won't be playing this game until a patch actually fixes this mess.
Any of you tried 566.14 driver for nvidia gpu, haven't had any more crashes, as I had with 566.36.
But yeah, that was a gpu driver issue, as I'm using win 10 22h2.

... someone didn't read last part of the topic title: "on 24H2?"
Wasn't a generic question: «hey, how does it work for you?»

The question was on 24H2, how does it work with the temp patch 1.4.1 release by Ubisoft... worse than before 24H2 anyway (i.e.: with 23H2 or before was running better)?

Seems someone didn't read the question, I'm asking you a question, what gpu drivers are you using.

While also I mentioned that was a gpu driver issue and mentioned what windows I'm instead using, aka with a broken gpu driver I can get crashes with certain games.

As the release date for win11 24h2 was oct 1st 2024, and in a similar time came out the nvidia gpu drivers 565 that borked games, causing it to crash at a certain time frame or randomly, regardless of what windows was in use.

Aka devs maybe will get bad feedback from people, blaming microsoft and the game, while the gpu drivers could also be an issue, not to mention everything else that can cause a similar issue.

Yes. It's still unclear and also drivers may have a role... However I still don't have the game and was just curious to hear from users with 24H2 if 1.4.1 is a decent patch

Worth noting that the issue is/was still open on Ubisoft's bug tracking and that 1.4.1 was only claimed as a partial fix, in particular they note performance issues remain.

It's not a driver issue.

It has been confirmed on more then one occasion that it is a Windows 11 24H2 issue. Because it also happens on AMD GPUs. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft have both confirmed this.
