Game is.... meh... average at best (6.0/10). The game feels like it was created by amateur story tellers and a team game level designers who are new to the industry.

Downsides:
1 .Character development is boring. Nothing worth while. You don't feel a sense of care for anyone, even your own team.
2. The ending doesn't feel climatic, largely attributed to the poor overall uninteresting story.
3. Graphics ugliness, this is largely attributed to the the over reliance on NVIDIA DLSS and reflex. Disable them and you get to to see how badly optmised the game truely is... to the point it is unplayable.

Good:
1. Game play feels okay...... thats just it.

Overall:
Get this game when it is 90% off. It is decent to pass the time when there is no other games to play out there.

I would recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of Star Wars, open world games, as well as the 3rd person action crowd. It gets a lot of things right.
Most importantly, the Star Wars element is very well conceived and executed, there are plenty of nuggets to find, moments and encounters that feel like real and natural interactions with the world you're on. Fans will definitely get a lot of kicks if they're familiar with the movies and lore. The planets have large areas to explore and they are all quite vastly different which allows you to pace the game as you see fit. Traversing the landscapes is a lot of fun on the speeder, which you can upgrade along the way. If you want to travel between ground level and orbit you can use your ship from a variety of fast travel locations (very handy), and there's plenty to explore in space as well.
The syndicate mechanic is very cool but not punishing, and combined with the open world design it offers some dynamic gameplay with regards to territory and districts. You can do as many jobs or as few as you'd like, choose to be loyal or side with whoever is paying the most credits. I felt that I could tackle the main story as I wanted and wasn't forced or felt to be on a timer. You can feel free to explore as much or as little as you please.
For me stealth is a viable mechanic in the game, it is much more forgiving than games like Hitman or MGS but it is less refined in that sector. I didn't have much issue stealthing through sections even with a few retries. Outlaws gives you some very useful tools to navigate silently and avoid raising the alarm. Besides all of your own abilities and the environment, the options are nearly doubled with the use of your sidekick.

The story is well told, and I think it respects the brand without going overboard. I can definitely see this being a trilogy of games with a serious arc for the characters, especially Kay and Nix.
I played using a PS5 controller and it worked great, no issues with full haptic feedback (which feels awesome while controlling a speeder).

If you have sufficient hardware, this game looks and runs amazing. I'm playing on a 4080 and i9 on an nvme and it was nearly flawless with everything maxed out, absolutely one of the best looking games of the year. I did have a few crashes and bugs, but nothing actually blocked progress beyond closing the game and then loading an autosave, a matter of seconds lost at most. The sound is also great and really punchy, and I felt it does a pretty good job of blending classic themes and the like with more modern sound, almost akin to The Mandolorian.

There is a lot of game here, if you do everything in each location you will probably double the time I spent at the time of review. I went with the base game and plan on purchasing the season pass when it is on sale and I feel totally fine with the pricing on Steam. On sale it would be a steal.

Perfect length for a typical Ubisoft offering. It's not a particularly innovative or outstanding game, but what is on offer is one of the better OT Star Wars worlds to lose yourself in for 30 hours or so. It doesn't get the time to start building fatigue and resentment (looking at you, Assassin's Creed/Far Cry), it tells a good enough story and lets the player inhabit the role of more-or-less everyday Rogue in the Galaxy. Not something to truly recommend to non-SW fans and certainly not something that deserves to be in any GOTY discussions, but as a "video game fast-food" meal, this one is good value. Think of it as a seasonal burger from McDonalds: it is a lot more interesting than their usual Big Macs, but at the end of the day it is still a McD Burger.
