no it isnt, because ultra widescreen is still a niche and with that a minority and no. 2%of steam users using ultra widescreens is NOT a lot xD.
The reason it's this way is most likely to reduce input lag, having the render coupled to the tickrate without interpolating reduces input lag and makes timings consistent.
