I would say Tekken 8 is the first tekken ever where the females are balanced. Pretty much every tekken before had just nina and sometimes julia in the higher tiers and that was it.
That you need less training with eddy as with jun is not a jun or female problem but a eddy thing. It's a character where pressing the same button again and again is good enough for many players.

Great input and thanks for also acknowledging Eddy is a problem. My ex gf doesn't seem to think so because she mains him lol but every character she mains is "balanced" while all the others are "cheap." She literally says Jun is more OP than him.

I won't say Eddy is OP, he is just braindead. Very easy to get mid rang fast but then when people labed him and know how to deal he is not that strong. But till then it's often a free win like the classic Tekken 3 Hworang/Paul.

Nina is top 3 if not the best character in the game. Jun has tons of cheap ♥♥♥♥. Lili is very solid. Reina is obnoxious. Azucena was crazy before they nerfed the ♥♥♥♥ out of her.

Eddy is just a tricky character that nobody plays so nobody knows how to fight him. If you knew the right stuff to abuse with Jun you'd have just as much success with her. (She also got nerfed heavily and was probably top 3 in vanilla.)

Maybe you're right, maybe it's balanced around gender. They want to differentiate from Street Fighter where blonde binches like Cammy have been top tier for over a decade

Well that's not exactly correct when you consider everything like Alisa is an android, Jun has angelic powers, etc. Like girls are usually faster and that's where my problem comes in, like Jun is quick but characters like Dragonuv can just power through stuff
