Editor bugs aren't my forte xD
You can get around this by copying everything in the level then pasting it in the original workshop level. Noted that the editor doesnt like when you select everything and the process is very slow but its better then losing all your work.
Also noted that this doesnt replace level settings either soo youll have to write those down or take a screenshot.
I simply unsubscribed from my own level and magically the button read "Save and Update" when I relaunched the game. Other methods previously mentioned did not work for me. I hope this helps.
Good news is that gives me a reproducible case that I can attempt to follow.
