@Ced23Ric Thanks, have a good day and thank you for your work!
Ced23Ric  [author] 4 Nov, 2024 @ 1:26am
Done. That one's easy.
Red007Master 21 Oct, 2024 @ 4:33pm
@Ced23Ric Thanks for your work.
You are not required to update your mod. Or do anything at all. (i know you know it) (i say it without bad intentions)

Only thing that i want to say that it would be a good (and handy) to mark deprecated mod/software as such.
Ced23Ric  [author] 26 Sep, 2019 @ 10:47pm
Sorry, bud. I stopped playing in 2016 or something. But the mod itself is fairly simple. All you need to do is download the mod, replace the outdated definitions with the vanilla ones (you can find them in the game's CubeDefinitions, IIRC) and then adjust the range numbers. It didn't do anything else than that.
Devestatio 25 Sep, 2019 @ 2:51pm
@Ced23Ric Any chance you might be willing to update this awesome mod? there are others out there but this one is perfect all around.
Trip Rodriguez 4 Apr, 2019 @ 10:34am
This appears to be broken, which is a shame. Can anyone confirm? I installed the mod but did not get any new lights added to the "G" menu. If it's broken, I really hope someone gets it fixed so I can replace all those spotlights for a performance boost!

Im new to this game and havent started modding yet. cause i wanna learn what im doing before i try modding. but im picking mods out for when i get use to game play/workings. but if you read this Thank You for doing what you do., im sure some people would have alot less fun without the mod community.
Jackhammer0312 5 Sep, 2016 @ 10:11am
Because hell, this is awesome
Kham 6 Aug, 2016 @ 7:29pm
Just thought I'd drop by to say we're still using these on our server. So I guess they fixed whatever broke this mod as the mod hasn't been updated since it apparently stopped working.
Houstonruss 21 Apr, 2016 @ 8:42pm
@Greyson Confirmed here too. It's a sad day!
Greyson XMG 21 Apr, 2016 @ 4:05pm
Just checked. This mod seems incompatable with the latest patch.

Even with this mod loaded alone, it causes instant crash.
Ced23Ric  [author] 13 Feb, 2016 @ 10:14am
Did not add them to the Assembler. Since I have stopped modding and/or caring about Spengies, the mod won't be updated either. Sorry, Flux. Use it as it is.
ArchaicFlux 13 Feb, 2016 @ 10:05am
Very nice! now I can actually see something! Might be nice to add them to the assembler as well for easy production ;) or am I just blind and can't find them?
dRuPpI 11 Feb, 2016 @ 12:36pm
@SciMan314 just kidding (look mod discription) :steamhappy:

also the problem with the "moving light" source is hard coded by keen so no mod developer can change it ever untill keen ads a new system for the light cones thats why alle the light mods have the same problem.
dRuPpI 11 Feb, 2016 @ 12:32pm
can you maybe make a second version of this mod wich replaces (dont adds new blocks) the vanilla lights and also just enabels the vanilla int.light for small ships please?
SciDerg 11 Feb, 2016 @ 3:16am
The only complaint I have about this mod is the same one I have for stock spotlights:
Increasing the radius of the light pushes the light source out in front of the spotlight block.
My workaround is to mount several spotlights where I would normally mount one, and set them to a progression of radius values.
EX:
Spotlight 1: 20m
Spotlight 2: 40m
Spotlight 3: 60m
etc.
Small ships work well with 20m offset, large ships work better with 50m offset. Any closer and you start washing out the colors and textures of everything, any further and you get gaps.
It costs more to build, but it makes it work like it should, and the light clusters look nice on industrial ships.

RE DX11: These have worked in DX11 on my install ever since I subscribed to them, which was sometime in December.
I'd be completely baffled if they didn't work in DX11, because they just re-use KEEN SWH models and textures.
dRuPpI 10 Feb, 2016 @ 7:36am
DX11 ? ;)
Z_dog 1 Feb, 2016 @ 9:10am
Does this support DX11? Lol jk, haven't used DX9 on this game for a year now, and haven't looked back since.

the modern planes have lights that can illuminate the dark while landing and ofcorde instruments for that
Ced23Ric  [author] 7 Jan, 2016 @ 1:23am
I think you will find tha planes generally do not like the dark, and rarely, if ever, conquer this by turning on massive lights that illuminate hundreds of meters to kilometers, but by having landing strip lights, or, not landing in the dark if they cannot see the ground.

What is your point?
flori1994 7 Jan, 2016 @ 12:54am
yes but for a plane that is traveling with 104m/s in default and even more with speed mod is 175 meter too low. even just for landing light
Ced23Ric  [author] 6 Jan, 2016 @ 4:31pm
It's also 165m more than the vanilla lights.
flori1994 6 Jan, 2016 @ 4:37am
176 meter is too short for a plane
Altzan260 24 Dec, 2015 @ 11:59am
this mod will help so i can avoid the dam giant holes i have everywhere
Hawkwar 22 Dec, 2015 @ 3:09pm
In the end I reinstalled SE and that appears to have fixed whatever the problem was. Love this game it gives me so many challenges :)
Hawkwar 22 Dec, 2015 @ 4:05am
Will give that a go.
Ced23Ric  [author] 22 Dec, 2015 @ 4:01am
@Hawkwar: Just tested it. Mod works fine as of time of posting.

Any corrupted worlds are on your end. I suggest you read the error log. More than likely the cause is something entirely different. We run this mod on my server, too, and it causes no issues. It actually can't, by itself, either. Suggesting you delete your local mods and get a fresh download.
Hawkwar 22 Dec, 2015 @ 12:41am
Can confirm that as of today this causes the dreaded "Corrupt World File" warning. Was working fine yesterday so its obviously one of keens stealth patches that has caused an issue. Hope a fix comes soon as I like this mod :)
Loki 21 Dec, 2015 @ 8:33pm
not a very good mod, doesnt work in the latest update
Mintturae 14 Dec, 2015 @ 7:37am
Thank you for this mod :)
Sor 9 Dec, 2015 @ 2:52am
What is their power consuption?
Kham 8 Dec, 2015 @ 6:55am
Thanks for this, nights on planets are so dark you pretty much just stand around for two hours because otherwise you're essentially flying blind.
Ced23Ric  [author] 8 Dec, 2015 @ 5:38am
Row, row, fight the powa, Sor. :)
Sor 8 Dec, 2015 @ 5:22am
Ced23Ric  [author] 8 Dec, 2015 @ 12:37am
Mike: No I uploaded a mod at the end of 2015 which is actually DX8 only. ;)

Please. Yes, it is DX11 compatible.
Mike Loeven 7 Dec, 2015 @ 6:41pm
I assume this is DX11 Compatable ?
Ced23Ric  [author] 5 Dec, 2015 @ 6:13pm
Trollsama: It's a drop-in replacement for those. Just swap this in and you have more range, without any block fiddling.
Trollsama 5 Dec, 2015 @ 3:52pm
how do they compare to super lights? I have that ATM and am considering a swap
ozzy118 5 Dec, 2015 @ 3:11am
Found them. I had another Mod, "Super Lights" installed, removed this and now have Long Range.
ozzy118 4 Dec, 2015 @ 2:09pm
No Can not find them. If I look at the active mods for my world, the , Warbros Long Range Lights are there.
But when I load my world, I only have the original Spot, (Radius 50m, Intensity 5).
Ced23Ric  [author] 4 Dec, 2015 @ 12:29pm
Ozzy: Try typing in "long range" into your search field.
ozzy118 4 Dec, 2015 @ 11:40am
Have subscribed to this mod, but can not find them in game?? Are they the default spot or is there a new spot??
germanTHX 3 Dec, 2015 @ 11:36pm

nephilimnexus 3 Dec, 2015 @ 1:42pm
Shame the game engine can't seem to handle the old inverse square law.
