Nice concept and even better execution, both visually and logically!

Very good job on introducing the mechanic, especially the last room. The design is also cool. I had Tenet vibes while playing)

Thanks jandlml! I'm glad that you found the intro engaging
jandlml 5 Apr, 2023 @ 8:00pm
wow even for an intro that was a little difficult good one!
Aneonen  [author] 8 Feb, 2023 @ 5:39pm
Thanks ChaosNe0! Indeed, the fact that those stairs take the guise of a return path while being critical to the solution seems to have surprised a lot more players than I thought!
ChaosNe0 8 Feb, 2023 @ 3:33pm
Very nice map! I always love introductions of new puzzle elements and this show case was also not too difficult. :)
The last one was tricky until I realised the stairs at the end are not an obstacle, but make this whole operation possible !

Thanks ShiYun!

Wow impressive map, both in idea and beautiful color.
Aneonen  [author] 20 Oct, 2022 @ 11:08am
Thanks SomusNamus! The entire map is a bit odd - it's a retrofitting of a map which was actually a lot older than the publication. I actually considered green, but swapping zone-color upon activation was beyond my technical knowledge and I am tragically biased against the color green simply by taste.

Thanks Jade! Glad you enjoyed the map and that strong coloring.
Jade BGE 29 Sep, 2022 @ 12:11pm
That was a super test! Creative and well done! Love the color too. I love smart portal creators.

Thank you all for playing!

@yelloo You can stick out your tongue, though I don't imagine Zone particles are healthy.

@Nobody No-One Quite interesting to see that almost everyone stumbles on that step, haha
Nobody No-One 30 Jun, 2022 @ 6:56pm
Fun tutorial, indeed not too hard, though it took me a few minutes to realize you could just put the laser cube at the laser source without portals. . Thumbs up.
yelloo 27 May, 2022 @ 7:34am
How to get snowflakes out of the air ;p
yelloo 27 May, 2022 @ 6:20am

fun idea

@Dr. FeelGoose Thanks for playing! I currently have one other map, Empty Zone, which instead connects the Zone to the portal gun ON/OFF functionality and is a significant step up in difficulty. I started with player-only activation out of ease, and though I considered a cube-only version, which could also be very generative, I decided to stick with the player-only for now at least for simplicity. The idea of a laser-zone-detector actually sounds quite potent! Tragically, though, if I remember correctly, making custom laser-detection is quite wonky.
Dr. FeelGoose 7 May, 2022 @ 12:38pm
Very interesting test element. I hope to see applications of this beyond just opening and closing panels. I was expecting the zone to be activated by cubes as well, but was surprised to see that it was player-activated. Perhaps a cube-only version of the zone could exist as well? Maybe even a laser detection zone of sorts? There are quite a few different applications for this. This has potential!
Aneonen  [author] 6 May, 2022 @ 9:23pm
Thank you all again!
@nerdlingnation Very relatable feeling, haha
@Docentti - Exactly; the ability to make these Zones so large is what makes them interesting!
Docentti 6 May, 2022 @ 1:24pm
To make a whole room your pressure plate is something I didn't expect to see. Loved the last puzzle :)
Libbybapa 6 May, 2022 @ 9:43am
Fun intro. Great job introducing the concept.
nerdlingnation 6 May, 2022 @ 9:07am
Me when not think to just put laser cube on source for 15 minutes
coNstantin 6 May, 2022 @ 12:59am
beautiful effect
Aneonen  [author] 5 May, 2022 @ 11:17pm
Thank you all for playing! Glad to hear the presentation went over well.
@Leo Hah! I didn't even think about that but you're right that the staircase is a little sneaky for that reason.
@Atom I'm considering trying to wrap all of the custom assets up into a package in the future (maybe after I release another map), but it will be tricky; there's a lot of messy business behind the scenes.
Psychological Atom 5 May, 2022 @ 5:06pm
Nice concept! Wish I can have this item
Leo 5 May, 2022 @ 4:27pm
I went around in a circle for a bit because I assumed the stairs next to the exit door was just a return path... Silly me! Quite fun and refreshing concept, executed well too. I took a look at the harder version, it looks very interesting. Will try and solve it next time :)
PhilFromFrance 5 May, 2022 @ 3:10pm
Nice concept.
Narkodes 5 May, 2022 @ 4:10am
Fun map with nice visuals!
