Ohh I see. I haven't actually test it. I was only looking on the comments. Will test it now.
SkyRipper  [author] 12 Feb @ 9:34am
@Caloens2k1 the innovation is for Roman culture only, did you see others having it? that can't be.
Caloens2k1 12 Feb @ 7:47am
Is there a way to limit the innovation to roman culture only?
HRE Billygoat 18 Jun, 2023 @ 6:52am
oh yes yes, the roman armies made of legions of 50 centurions
Cleric 13 Apr, 2022 @ 11:10am
No problem! Least I could do after getting such a great blueprint to work with.
SkyRipper  [author] 10 Apr, 2022 @ 4:42am
Hi @Cleric, thanks for the info, i did notice they had be broken, sucks house guard doesn't work anymore, also changed to heavy infantry now, as for recruit, mercenary etc.. i have no idea why they no longer work and if you remove them from innovation you can't use them so it has to stay the way it is at least i have no idea how to fix that.
Cleric 9 Apr, 2022 @ 10:44am
simple fix to that @bad at everything, open up the mod, and adjust the values as you like, then save with UTF-8-with-BOM and you are done. Any changes like this get overwritten with updates to the mod.
god of being bad at everything 15 Feb, 2022 @ 12:03am
praetories are too weak, only 50 of em is too weak, their value is essentially halved
Matt 11 Feb, 2022 @ 6:59am
Awesome! I might give it a go. If I knew how to restrict it to Roman culture (I'm playing a standard Roman culture) in particular, that'd be great. But I know the new culture system probably makes that difficult or impossible. I'll probably boot it up once I conquer Italy. :D
SkyRipper  [author] 10 Feb, 2022 @ 1:40pm
*Surreal you can try i'm not sure it will but you lose nothing for trying
Matt 10 Feb, 2022 @ 1:23pm
Would this work for an ongoing game? I ended up creating a Roman campaign start and wish I had this for the units.
Astheus 8 Feb, 2022 @ 11:47pm
ty for fix and yes i know i am roman culture cuz i always create my own ruler with roman culture
SkyRipper  [author] 8 Feb, 2022 @ 5:43pm
@Astheus fixed it, should be working now, no idea why it didn't work they must have changed something in culture groups, remember you need to be or convert to Roman to do it, and be head of your culture to select it
SkyRipper  [author] 8 Feb, 2022 @ 3:06pm
Astheus i will try tomorrow still have to install the game and have no time now.
Astheus 8 Feb, 2022 @ 12:28pm
with the new update the innovation Exercitum Romanum dissipiered so its not working pls update

Update
Ahsoka Tano 30 Aug, 2021 @ 5:04am
Byzantine culture = Greek wannabes. Byzantine is just a name we use TODAY to refer to the Greek Roman Empire
SkyRipper  [author] 19 May, 2021 @ 3:53pm
@arbaizacarlo if they become Roman then they can use it, otherwise they can't
arbaizacarlo 19 May, 2021 @ 11:08am
what about the byzantine culture group? they call themselves romans, they have a decision to become roman
Emperor Thaloth 14 Apr, 2021 @ 2:43pm

@SkyRipper, there was a mod called "The Roman Empire Restoration Project" that did gave debuff to the levy size, levy replenishment and to vassal levy contribution for the counterpart to give roman culture Men-at-arms regiments and did actually worked out pretty well ! But the mod isn't updated whatsoever now. I also know dat romans were indeed known for their adaptability.
NotFox 3 Mar, 2021 @ 10:18am
Yeah, the levies are pretty much impossible to remove, the Princes of Darkness folks can't even get around levies without breaking the game and they are a whole team.
captain403 25 Feb, 2021 @ 12:03pm
Levies should be left in. No other culture used levies when the Romans were doing there thing, but they still were in use during the medieval era. Society changes, and levies are one of those changes. The Romans were adaptable, so levies would still be in use by them.
SkyRipper  [author] 24 Feb, 2021 @ 2:24pm
@Alarak i think they used levies during the Republic era, but i can't do anything about them, they are hardcoded to exist in the game, each province gives levies etc.. can't remove them, i could maybe make a -100% levi kinda debuff but that would probably break many things in the game if it's even possible.
Constantin Valdor 24 Feb, 2021 @ 2:20pm
@SkyRipper I do understand your point and i learnt from this mistake !
By the way i would suggest that you make something about the levies. Cuz it wasn't in the roman culture to rely on levy system like it was during medieval times. And relied on a standing army of professional & payed soldiers. I do also think that at some point they used levies. But not as drasticly as the medieval societies did during the middle-ages
SkyRipper  [author] 21 Feb, 2021 @ 2:10pm
@{FTC}Trev95 you know i was thinking about it, but i have 0 clue if Byzantine had their own units the same way Rome did, i was also thinking of making a more bronze age Egypt units but that might be going to much into the past
{FTC}Trev95 21 Feb, 2021 @ 3:50am
Thank you for this mod sir, I love the idea of having my own legions running about. Do you have any plans on making the new units available to the Byzantines?
SkyRipper  [author] 20 Feb, 2021 @ 7:45am
@Gornuz already fixed, should't happen now.
SkyRipper  [author] 20 Feb, 2021 @ 7:40am
@Gornuz have you seen that? how often? no it should not be possible, i will check and update if i find a problem like that but mercenaries should, if an AI or player has unlocked the innovation, use the army types yes, but not centurions.
Gornuz 20 Feb, 2021 @ 2:50am
is it normal that mercenaries can have up tp 180 centurions?
SkyRipper  [author] 16 Feb, 2021 @ 6:46am
@Alarak actually based on Wikipedia "A legion was roughly of brigade size, composed of 4,200 infantry and 300 cavalry in the republican period, expanded to 5,200 infantry and 120 auxilia in the imperial period." so they were definitely more than 100 or 150.
Constantin Valdor 16 Feb, 2021 @ 5:48am
It would be interesting dat all the roman units included in the exercitum romanum have their historical number of men in each regiment. Cuz to have like 100 legionaries for example while historicly the legionary never truly had 100 per regiment if not mistaken.
nicklaslf 14 Feb, 2021 @ 7:15am
BTW - awesome mod! Works with a new game, and I love having roman soldiers in my empire!
GWKYS22 8 Feb, 2021 @ 7:53am
for immersion the praetorians should just kill ur character
SkyRipper  [author] 7 Feb, 2021 @ 2:12pm
@nicklaslf ok so that was the issue, i was finding it to strange since i didn't write "mottes" requirement anywhere XD, well now we know it's not very savegame compatible.
nicklaslf 7 Feb, 2021 @ 9:51am
Well, apparently, it's not savegame compatible. Works when I start a new game.
nicklaslf 7 Feb, 2021 @ 9:46am
Same as @truelove101992 - It requires my culture to have Mottes, of which there are two, instead of a separate innovation for roman army. And I already have Mottes.
SkyRipper  [author] 7 Feb, 2021 @ 7:18am
@truelove101992 what decision? nothing in the mod requires Mottes innovation.
truelove101992 7 Feb, 2021 @ 7:11am
Even though I have Mottes, it says I don't have it and thus can't take the decision.
sawyer26 7 Feb, 2021 @ 5:46am
mod için teşekkürler...
Philemon 7 Feb, 2021 @ 2:50am
Seems good my man
Blood Lightning 6 Feb, 2021 @ 4:11pm
awesome
SkyRipper  [author] 6 Feb, 2021 @ 4:01pm
yes the AI will use this too after unlocking the innovation.
Blood Lightning 6 Feb, 2021 @ 3:54pm
does the AI use this?
