@Andora I can look at updating it, still not sure how to fix the fleet name issue yet but I will stop being lazy and look into it

Any plans to update this again or is it dead, kinda miss all my nsc ships having names and the variety of planet and leader names that this mod had.

@moncher yah its an issue do to something PDX changed I will get it fixed eventualy but the files on my other computer so it may take a bit

This namelist no longer seems to work on fleet and army names.

It calls any fleet "%O% Fleet"

Very cool! Yeah I use battleships as my baseline after a certain point, and in a 10k star galaxy it ends up being a lot of ships

battleship names are probably closer to 80 or 90 possably more.
Cruisers well Im not sure how many nations there are in the world but thats the names I used for them so at least one name for every nation in the world, plus a few dozen other random names.

The set includes over 50 battleship names, and that's probably the smallest list other than the Titans, Dreadnoughts, and the Carrier. in theory you should not run out. I have literally hundreds of corvette names in the list.
If you let me know what class you tend to mass produce and how many you have on average I can probably expand the list with more names

Do the names apply to specific ship classes or across all military ships. I play with outsized numbers of particular classes so I'd run out of names if they were class restricted

After starting a new game - I believe its a save game glitch. With a new game it seems to be fine now. Sorry to have you sent on on a wild goose chase.

I have spawned tech and ships to see if they would get names. I have not restarted a new game to see if its a save game glitch. I will go do that now and will let you know. Regarding that link i just see an image of a earth with lights so not sure what mod that is specifically.

I checked them against the provided NSC namelist and everything seems to check out. Im just not sure what I can do.
Have you tried starting a game giving yourself the tech and seeing if it happens again?

@rage007 I have tried But I cant seem to replicate the problem it seems to be working fine on my end and I cant find anything that could be creating the problem for you. possibly some sort of game glitch is anyone else having this problem?
I started a new game and gave myself the offending ships but the names seem to be working fine.
The only ting I could think of creating this problem is if you had both the old version and the new version of the mod running at the same time.

yeah I actually manually update mods these days - I dont let the steam interface do it. I unsub and the subscribed again when mods are updated. I was looking at the text files and ship classes to see if there was differences in ship classes and didnt see any so Im mystified as to why they are not getting the names applied.

I noticed battle cruisers and dreadnoughts are not getting their names. I use NSC2. I am up to dreadnoughts in the game.So Far this is the only ship classes I am seeing no names being applied to the ships that are in this Mods name list

FYI: the name "Lewis Hancock" got split between lines 41 and 42 of HUMAN4.txt, which is triggering a "Malformed token" error (due to the newline). Found this while troubleshooting randomized empire generation issues (missing names/portraits); not sure if it's a contributing factor, but seems likely.

@shroutmike So just tested it out. Everything seems to be working so far. I can confirm that I have loaded my save with out any issues, simply disabling the old mod and enabling the new one seems to have worked. I guess you can put that on the description, but I'll let you know if anything comes up.

@gunney456 I cant think of any reason it wouldn't be as its only names. All I did was add more of them and make it so it works with NSC as well by adding names for those ship classes as well.
So the short answer is I hope so but I have not tested it

@vdiland unsubscribe to your mod that should fix it you don't need to subscribe to your own mods and when you do it creates issues. Or so I have been told by other modders

I want to ask, sir. I made a MOD of a preset name package myself。I myself have no problem in the use of local MOD., there is no problem. But after uploading, I cannot find it in the preset name after subscribing.
