My mistake, I had grapeshot in my inventory. After I removed it, the cannons worked fine.

Yes I made sure I loaded the 24 pound round shot and it still shoots either grapeshot or canister.

I cant seem to drop this onto a catch block on both ends, they are spaced 2 grids between, but I can place it on the timber beams below that have the same spacing, but would be unable to control elevation right?

I think there is a bug with that. You need to aim towards the center of the gun, from the back.

Hello, I have an error with this mod: if the gun is mounted on a hub or or movable, then the fuse does not work, does not shoot, the gun works only if it is stationary, here is a video with this error: https://youtu.be/K3SzXs4KMiM

it couldn't be a ghost ship, i spawned it in seconds before i fired at it, and yeah i'm able to drag it around

They are doing damage for me. Are you sure your ship is not a ghost ship? If you right click on it, can you drag it around?

not really. You will just have to figure out the place to aim. Once you do it becomes easy

loader already in the cannons? what do you mean with that? You place a cannon, then move to the front of it and use it, then keep using it to load it, then at the fire hole you shoot it. Make sure you have the correct ammunition in your inventory

yes its fixed, the code for this mod is in the base mod so that is why this has not been updated

Not sure if you updated the mod, but it seems like the problem is fixed. I did some test single player battles yesterday and the day before, the cannons now shoot straight with just the right amount of inaccuracy for smooth bores. The mod says that it was updated on May 1 which is why I'm unsure if the problem is completely fixed. Just wanted to let you know.

I also discovered this yesterday. It was because I added grid velocity to the projectiles their velocity but something went wrong and the grid velocity is scaled. So if your ship is moving forward the projectiles will be flying forward way faster than your ship and end up at like an 45° angle forward. I was just about to fix this, should be fixed very soon

Hey again peaceman, I was doing more single player ship battles and I noticed that the guns seem to be a lot more inaccurate than before you added the elevation control (which is awesome btw). I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but when I place the ships around 200 meters apart from each other, I have to aim the cannons extremely low in order to get a few hits. It's to the point where the muzzle of each cannon is pointed towards the water. When the guns are set to the default position (0 degrees) the shots seem to fire at a 30 degree angle and completely fly over the target. I know that these types of guns were smooth bores, and were inaccurate, but not missing at 200 meters inaccurate. I'm not asking for the cannons to have sniper-grade accuracy, just something more reasonable (like before the elevation update). Don't feel rushed to fix this if you are busy with other things, I just wanted to give you some feedback, thanks.

Elevation control has been added to the cannons. It is a new keybinding (default T)
Also added 2 new channels for remote control of the cannons

I have found the problem and updated the mod.
The problem was caused by a small math change where a mistake was made that resulted in the projectiles instead of the usual 250-300 m/s having now almost 1 million m/s. That is 1/300th the speed of light :lunar2019shockedpig:
Now you know what would happen if a projectile going that fast hits a ship haha. (in reality it would vaporize and explode before even leaving the barrel)

Hey peaceman, I've been using this mod for a while and it hasn't given me issues until about 2 days ago. I've been doing ship battles in singleplayer and all of a sudden the cannons have been doing way too much damage to ships. A 6 pounder is able to blast a massive hole into the ship's hull and blast it back around 50 meters. It can completely sink a ship with only one shot. Again, the cannons worked fine and did reasonable damage a couple of days ago. The cannons don't cause a crash, they just break some rules of physics. Please let me know what I could do to help, thanks.

I don't know if it is directly related to bronze cannons or it is stock game bug where game crash with too heavy blocks becoming dynamic.

the cannon does get push when it is not on a catch block however.

You can also use the small rope on the side of the cannon to remotely fire it using keybindings

(I just woke up so my english is good not) there should be a little pokey bit on one end that is a fuse that you can interact with.
