I found a bug ingame that unables you to upgrade weapons. For some reason, with specific modded weapons, if you carry multiple of the same kind, the upgraders will not give you a price and therefore you are unable to upgrade, as the upgrade button is disabled without a price. I found it out myself after trying multiple ways of fixing the upgrader again, as reloading the character and crafting a new station didnt work. I dont know why like 1% of modded weapons does that, but it got me rather confused at the beginning.

I added this mod both on client and server, i can create, for example, L2, but when i try to place it - server throws an error [Error] Could not instantiate item '[weaponupgrader_tier2, 5, {}]'. (ItemException) No such item 'weaponupgrader_tier2'
Everything is ok in singleplayer.

Hmm, maybe this can be made without crafting. E.g. tier 10 for vanilla ancient anvil (plus you can spend your essence).

ok, crafting ingredients are a factor that i didn't think about...
And: there are a few methods to get high.lvl Weapons.
As example you could build a space station with Merchant NPCs around a firery Star and they can sell lvl 8 Weapons, and if you do their Quests, you can even get (with a very small chance) lvl 10 Weapons from them (at least that's how i got them).
Also there are some Mods that take the Tier of Moons back to Tier 10 (wich got patched out with 1.1) so you can build a colony on a moon, just watch out that you don't have any fuel in your inventory and don't collect any.
P.S: these are only Tips, i don't want to say i would be smarter or something :steamhappy:

Kyoto, alright, I can make T10 upgrade as addon mod. But what about craft recipe? Solarium ore is the most high-end ingredient, what you suppouse to use at T10?
p.s. I never met weapons more than 6 lvl in vanilla game.

lvl 10 weapons ain't OP, only on low tier planets, even a lvl 10 Sniper need a few hits for most of the Monsters on planets at tier 5-6. They only kill them with one hit, if you have a high-lvl Armor with a high Damage-boost.
But if you really don't want to upgrade the mod to lvl 10 weapons, pls set the max to lvl 8 or something, because it's pretty easy to get lvl 5-6 Weapons if you have a cooling Pack and a poison-resisttance item, but it's very hard to find a rare, lvl 8-10 weapon, i only found some in Reward bags from Quests on a Tier 6 Planet with a colony.

@turner this problem also happens when from mods that allow you to upgrade modded preset(? is it pre-set, no idea) weapons on the ancient forge. Just remove modded weapon and armor from your inventory when you tries to upgrade stuff

It's not letting me upgrade any weapon. It lets me highlight what I want to upgrade, but the cost doesn't show and the button is unavailable. Also, is it possible to make weapons have Tier 10?

Sorry, I just don't use the vanilla weapons too much beforehand and I don't check the stats. I just want to know if this mod is just the normal upgrade but for commons or if it does more like change/boost the secondary, etc

biggreen93, there is no connection between weapon level and rarity. And mod doesn't touch weapons itself, leveling is a vanilla system.

Shurik1236, потому и сделаны уровни. Дизбаланса здесь нет, так как оружие определенного уровня можно всегда найти на соответствующих планетах. А чтобы сделать систему апгрейда, придется эти планеты в любом случае посетить для поиска ингредиентов.
Мод по сути нужен чисто для того, чтобы любое понравивщееся оружие игрок мог сохранить на протяжении всей игры, а не заменять на другое, просто потому что оно перестало быть эффективным в плане наносимого урона.
Ну и на древней наковальне нельзя улучшать обычное оружие, только особое.

can you make to where the weapon rarity matches the level upgrade? For exmple: A weapon upgraded to level six is legendary.

Unfortunately, looks like upgrade system is hardcoded for crafting tables. And here is some little changes in new version.

Ver. 1.01
- New naming: "Upgrade System"
- Window subtitle now useful and represents level
- Useless "Cancel" button removed

Also - maybe make them work same way, as vanilla workbenches? E.g you craft tier one with hands and then upgrade to next tiers via pressing "update" button in UI
