Description


Enhanced Audio Resources is a sound pack for the source engine that aims to completely overhaul the hl2_sound_misc_dir.vpk file that most games and mods that run the source engine run. The results? A new source engine experience.

The complete pack replaces over 1,400 base files to give your game a fresh new coat of paint. You can find a link to that at the top of the description.

The aim of this mod is to represent realism without changing the initial intent of the vanilla sounds.

This part of EARs modifies:
  • Alarms
  • Critters
  • Scripted Explosions
  • Fire
  • Machines
  • Misc Map Event Sounds
  • Ambient Voices
  • Wind

I only recomend the ambient sound packs if you really want the full experience as they are the bulkiest files of the bunch (343 mb uncompressed total).

It will restart the sounds and it should work properly

You need to type in console: snd_restart

nice addons, but why every time i do something it makes weird sounds ._.

that's an gmod problem sometimes the sound gets corrupted and then you need to reinstall the game that happens to me aswell sometimes

when you kill that one tower citizen on the coast where you get the rocket this addon changes the squeak into some cheap hollywood scream and i hate it

Change that one loud alarm for the cameras.

There's one alarm that's a little too ear piercing, it's an alarm on one of the combine cameras. The same audio is used for a base alarm in a top secret evil genius base in one map. And that's too ear peircing to even fit. Do you think you could change it?
