Western Shootout

Description
Welcome to the Old West. Here you are at nobody's mercy - death can be unexpected, instantaneous and out of every corner. The true outlaws are the ones that draw quick and precisely. And in the end, only one law will remain. Time to prove yourself and see how quick your reflexes are - in Western Shootout.

This map can only be played on the Last Team Standing gamemode. Players will be sorted into two teams - and for every showdown, one player from each team is randomly selected. After a countdown from a random interval between 2 and 25 seconds, both players are given a pistol, and the first to kill the other wins. This continues until one team is completely void of remaining players.

Tips on how to be the best outlaw in town:
  • You can save yourself crucial time by going to options, then Game Options, and set "Autoselect Weapon in Multiplayer" to "Always". This way you don't need to scroll to the pistol before you can start shooting - it will already be in your hands by that time.
  • When "SHOOT!" appears on-screen, your moving space increases - try evading left or right to throw your opponent off-guard - crouching also really helps, since your foe will most likely be aiming for your torso, since it doesn't matter where you aim, any shot is instant death. Jumping is not recommended, but possible.
  • Aiming down sights ensures that you do not have to rely on bullet spread to hit your opponent - but keep in mind that is also severly hinders your movement speed. It's up to you if you want to fire from the hip or from down the sights - both have their ups and downs.

Additional credits:
A huge thanks to noam 2000 for making this map look much better than it originally did, and same goes to SeriousCsaba for helping me out when the LUA scripting didn't quite go as planned. Another thanks goes out to bench, Biomechanoid, Justabit_Ginger, Pan, Rabbit.ecl and StrikeUnleashed for helping me make sure the map functions with larger amounts of players.

Music is from Red Dead Redemption's OST, composed by Bill Elm and Woody Jackson. I take zero credits for making these themes.
