The Reluctant Hero

Description
In your youth, you decided against following in your father's path to becoming a knight. Instead, you choose to be a trader in Queen Solina's lands. You don't pay much attention to politics of Linia. As long as the trading is good, you're happy. But the Queen is aging, and times are changing. Will you be able to continue your life as a trader, or will you be pulled into the nation's shifting politics?

This campaign is the first two chapters of this story. It's adapted from a novel I wrote a couple of years ago. I hope to add some more plots in the future. I also don't have any real side quests or legends. I had to simplify things a bit as I figured out how the game worked to get the main story events working. Also, it's written for a male character. There is a strong female character in my novel, with her own story line, but for the game I wasn't sure exactly how to get her in as a main character. So for now, it's just the male.

Also, these first two chapters are a bit light in terms of battles, as they introduce the story. So hopefully you don't find it too boring! It's the third chapter when events conspire to create some battles. The third chapter is almost done, but I won't really be able to work on it for a couple of months. The problem is balancing all the opposition armies to make sure that they're neither too weak or too strong. I'm still learning how to do this. And to get to each battle, especially one's later in the chapter, I have to play through all the events to test it. I hope to get back to this in December.

Anyway give this a try, and I hope you enjoy it. Any feedback and suggestions are welcome (although some may be ignored :) haha. This is my first ever attempt at modding/scenario creation in any game. So go easy on me!

Hi, don't know what to.
I attacked the escort with Simon, he's not there, though got the arab goblet and what now? Roland won't talk to me, the chapel to the east isn't accessible but is hostile, I don't have any questmark.
All I have is some clueless hint "to go East" but nothing happens in the east. Am to conquer all, or what?

Just played through this and tried the different choices. Most enjoyable. Thanks for starting a mini campaign like this. I would like to see the next chapter, if it is still going ahead. I can see there has been a couple of years since this was created. Thanks, good effort.

Thanks for the comments. Sorry I'm so busy right now to work on it. @Kygeir: thanks for the comment. I don't think that's intentional. I'll take a look soon.

I was able to load and play this through. I enjoyed it, but it is a bit light on combat. I did notice what seems to be a bug? After the first day and night the enemies would lose most of their troops. Enemies being the bandits and mercenaries in front of the church as well as a few bands that turned hostile after certain choices. I really don't think that was intended? This did make the combat rediculously easy. Otherwise I did like playing it and hope to see the rest soon.
