The vanilla version of this (no mods nor themes) is located here http://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=513057446

Feb 2018 Update: all infrastructure completely ripped out and made from new. Larger, flatter (and thus easier) start square. Converted from European to Boreal biome. Removed old mod requirement and added in new updated Snowcapped mountains Boreal theme.

Original description:

Norway: Ramberg. Like fjords? Wish they had more land? Well here's your answer! This map won't be difficult to grow, and can even be played with a 9 tile limit (although you won't see some of the amazing sights found at the edges).

The Lofoten Islands have some of the most famous landscapes in all of Norway. The villages of Ramberg and Fredvang are at the center of this map, and are connected via a beautiful series of bridges. They offer some more land for the purposes of our game than the arguably more famous, and stunning, village of Reine. The scenery around your city is no less amazing.

Unlike most of my maps, this map is very close to the actual location. Just a little land was added to the landscape.
With one big exception:
The villages have little harbors in real life, so with all the wonderful harbor items now available in the game, I have added several large harbor pieces of land (cargo and passenger), and small boat harbor sea walls. It is all painstakingly sculpted so that it looks like a real harbor once you place down whatever you like on the land. Many thanks go out to all the people in the Skylines Nation facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/SkylinesNation/, who taught me how they make their harbor land using a mod. It allows me to bring you this "no mods required" harbor land, pre-made for you, with a really attractive look.

The harbor plots and seawalls are set to 3 units above sea level, the perfect height for some fantastic custom port / harbor / dock items in the workshop, as well as fitting the game's cargo and passenger ship terminals very nicely. The edges are extremely sharp, so that it gives the look of being a harbor sea wall, without having to mod your game to get the custom ones available in the workshop.

If you use the sea wall mod, you will appreciate the following detail: instead of having to use the terrain editor mod to make the land underwater completely flat and level, it's already done for you.

Please see the photos for some ideas. I am by no means anywhere near very good at making harbors/ports, but hopefully it will allow you to see how you can construct these areas without needing ANY mods!

I also gave an example of a Norwegian-looking historic harbor town, where the houses come right up to the seawall. It looks great on this map as an alternative to the modern harbor. There are three of these harbor lands, I constructed both kinds.

No problem at all! I'm happy to explain because I'm pretty much in the same situation - I have learned most everything from others in this nice community, so I just pass along the good karma. :winter2019joyfultearssnowman: I don't know that much, really, but I'm glad to help where I can.

@MrMiyagi. Thank you. I am a user and not a developer so when it comes to simple things like this, I look illiterate! I can't believe people get annoying. I hope it's not many of them and just a handful.

Hi, that's not my theme (this map uses my Boreal Snowy Peaks theme), but fyi Ronyx69 wrote that on a lot of his stuff, but it doesn't mean it's broken. You can still use his stuff like Starburg. People are often really demanding and really annoying in Ronyx's comments sections, so that's why I guess he decided to write that on his descriptions. I am lucky I have so few problems with rude people compared to other creators.

Hi. The Starburg map theme says: "Outdated release, description removed, comments unsubscribed."

I am jealous of you! I would love to travel to the fjords some day. If you're still looking at maps, you might want to take a peek at my newest map Fjordland. It comes in different versions with DLC and without DLC https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1878908740
