I see! While the ships attracted the interest of the natives, they were already running trains within the continent.
It is no good to run a train on someone else's land without permission. You'll get in trouble!

November 28th, 1885: With the fall timetable change, the Streatham & Northern introduces a train numbering system. Passenger trains and mixed trains (mandatory trains) are given 2-digit numbers, freight trains 3-digit numbers (100-series for through trains and 200-series for shunters). Odd numbers designate northbound and westbound services, even numbers southbound and eastbound services. Sequential letters are affixed for multiple daily runs. For example, train number 1A is the 5:15 Streatham-Newport express, train number 114B is the 2:25 Dinslowe Goods Sidings to Manningtree Yard mixed goods (second departure of the day).
