[G.L.I] KX-20 Border Patrol Gunship

Lore: Built to be sold on mass to independent systems, the KX-20 was designed to be the ultimate border patrol gunship. Boasting heavy firepower for civilian roles, this ship edged the line between civilian and military use. This was partialy the reason why it was able to get popuar within the galaxy as the standard border security vehicle of choice since many pirates and outlaws that saw its guns generaly decided to surrender rather than fight. A professional one however, would have known the KX-20 was nothing more than a scare tactic as the ship lacked mobility and decent armor for one on one engagements. Its armor was more than enough for what most of the civillian vessels were carrying but for black market weapons that most outlaws use, the ship could easily become target practice.

Regardless of its flaws, many systems used this fearsome weapons platform and propagandised its fearsome weapons and looks as a way to recruit more and more people into border security roles. Even their pilots kept praising the aircraft knowing full well about its severe limitations, probably due to a lack of combat the KX would get in. When the war broke out however, majority of the border security forces were quickly transfered to the military to fight against the resurgent forces. Many were only trained as border security officers and lacked propper military training thus suffered heavy casualties.

During the war many of these KX-20 gunships were still operating within systems that were in close proximity to the battlefield regions so an encounter with stray resurgent forces was inevitable. There were a couple instances were resurgunet fighter squadrons clashed with a couple KX-20 gunships and more often than not, the KX-20 failed to stop the invader. This was due to the crafts civillian design and a lack of mobility and armor for military useage alongside insufficient pilot training.

So i saw this photo of a CAT spaceship and i just had to make it a thing in space engineers so there it is. Im not super happy with the ship itself but i mainly wanted to write some lore for this ship as a border security gunship so there it is i guess.
