Description
And baby, they were fixed with a vengeance.

I'm a little disappointed I had to put the indefinite brakes on the Halloween project I was planning, so I decided I'd whip up this quick little fix to help bring out the axe murderer in everyone this Halloween season.

In other words...

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEERES NICKYYYYYYYYYY (Ass clown).

Now you might be wondering "Wait, what's wrong with the fire axe that needed fixing?"

Well shut up Greg, and let me explain before I decide to employ my own fire axe fix to you. With a fire axe. Gawd.

Some people like myself enjoy playing the game with a higher Field of View rate on the view models, to make the weapon we're holding a little less close to the screen. If you've never been aware of how to do this, it can be done by entering cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor followed by the number you want into the console. The default value is 51, very low compared to other Source games, and most people like myself enjoy it being around 60~80.

And if you don't know how to work the console to enter this command in

Well

You're something else.

Anyway, the bug that comes to play appears when one uses the fire axe with a FoV value of ~65 or higher. When walking, the left and parts of the right arm of the survivor will rise up to obscure part of the screen, like what you see in the image (and I mean the screenshots - not the footage of how Nick handles his divorces). This can be especially noticeable on certain alternate survivor models, such as Mr Lanky's Duke Nukem or my own Painkiller Francis model. This is due to an inconsistent rest pose in the fire axe's movement sequence, and its why you may not see alot of people using the melee weapon.

Well no more, because with this thing you can now use the fire axe to your heart's content at whatever FoV you like without any massive, partially existant biceps getting in the way.

This will work with custom textures, and other modders are welcome to compile custom melee weapon models on this animation set, but please give credit where its due, or God as my witness I'm going to break you in half. With a fire axe.

Images were made by myself in Source Filmmaker.

Everything in this mod was done by me, but a special thanks must go to ZeqMacaw and his Crowbar program. The starter kit Valve provided for the fireaxe was impossible to modify without something going wrong, such as the look_poses or the camera attatchment. Decompiling the compiled model with Crowbar proved much easier a workstation.
