even the jeeps such as the cj5 and especially the cj6 as it was made for farm equipment as it was lengthen and able to purchase a full on 3 point for it. Kinda funny that they used these things as tractors huh, but was convenient for the local farmer as they didn't need a tractor and a truck, they could just get away with this to start off or even continue as it was convenient even still.

PTOs where a huuuge thing back in the 50s through the 70s and even some american trucks even kept them such as the dodge through the 90s. Most European 4wds had them till they quit making them as they where used in equipment and attachments they still needed them for.

They even kept them clear into 2016 when they stopped producing the real land rover. The rear was used for farm equipment as these where brittans tractor back in the day, and could be used as a winch. The front was mostly known for PTO winches as land rover even made them for these and could buy them at the dealer. They where used everywhere.

that's actually cool that they thought of something like that.

The holes that are in the bumpers and frame are for PTOs. Electric winches and attachments weren't around in the time that the rover was produced, so they manufactured them with holes for a PTO that you would route through and into the transmission to power them.
