There's nothing wrong with going back and forth in a map in order to solve a puzzle(s), but for me if a map is busy looking, meaning too many cubes or tractor beams, light bridges etc. etc. etc. it can become monotonous and samey!
I myself when creating puzzles and designing a map will only use one tractor beam and light bridge per map, e.g. you won't see in my maps 2 light bridges, I try to be creative using just one!
I also try to be creative using only two cubes in my map, sometimes 3, like 2 cubes one sphere or vice versa!
Keep working at it cause I see some talent in your maps, also consider the beemod and item addons if you don't want to learn hammer!
Go to my map Material Handler and get the mods and addons in my description there easy to install.
anyway the constructive criticism is very much appreciated, especially coming from an experienced map-maker whose creations I've enjoyed
as for the pedestal button, that is part of the optional challenge to find an easter egg hidden somewhere in the map
I'll take the comparison to your earlier works as a compliment, but I do get your meaning. I'm still fairly new to map making and my brain seems to default to big maps consisting of several smaller puzzles, I should experiment with some smaller maps of just those small puzzles sometimes
the puzzles were way to easy for me to solved, and in a way kinda boring, also the map kinda reminded me of my own earlier work with the big chambers!
Don't get me wrong, back when I started playing/making big maps like this one they were fun to me, now they just feel samey!
No vote on this map, but I took some pictures for you during my gameplay.
Picture I didn't have to activate the light bridge to get across but you should put a laser field
or goo in that pit because if the player falls in there they can't get out!
Picture 2 I deactivated the tractor beam but there's a pedestal button right there, and I don't know
what it does cause I never press it as I was exiting the map?!
First room is fantastic. Second room is fantastic. Third room is fantastic.
