Description
A mod which seeks to add flavor and overhaul playing as the Swiss Confederation/ Swiss cantons.

Features:
Swiss Culture: New culture in Central Germanic group with unique male, female, and dynastic names. Spawns by decision in the 11 counties that comprise Switzerland. AI can take the decision as well and are more likely to do so if their liege is Swiss.

Swiss Retinue and Building: Reislaufer pike retinue available for Swiss characters as well as cultural building to boost combat capabilities.

New De Jure Switzerland: The de jure lands of the Swiss Confederacy (once-formed), will include 11 counties (3 more than the usual 8 in vanilla). Forming Switzerland also is easier to do and will net you a bloodline and artifact. Forming Switzerland also unlocks the wider array of decisions in this mod.

Swiss Confederate Government: New feudal type government where vassals are called to join wars like tribal governments, but direct land ownership by the leader of the Confederacy and the 11 cantons is limited. To not overstep confederate boundaries, only one county can be held directly. Expansion through playing tall and growing your vassal swarm will be the best strategy. Each de jure Swiss county can be expanded to have 7 holding slots by right clicking the county title to access a title decision.

Swiss Confederate Corruption: An event and subsequent modifier that fires if the Swiss Confederation leader or any of the de jure 11 cantons holds more than county directly in their demesne. The way to rectify this is to give away the extra county to a vassal and take the intrigue decision to repent of the corrupt attempt at power consolidation (in a similar way to repenting to remove an excommunication.)

Swiss Confederate Elective Succession: New succession type which has set electors of canton holders and current leader of the confederation. Eligible candidates for heir are current ruler's family and each feudal canton's leader.

New Buildings: A whole host of new buildings intended to benefit the playing tall strategy as well as make an army of retinues attainable and affordable.

Artifacts: Weapon, armor, and documents which boost your economy and military capabilities. Armor lets you don the colors of the Swiss Guard while leading troops (though it does hide your beard at the same time). Also the members of the Papal Swiss Guard will wear the uniform if serving as commanders in any battle.

Decisions: New decisions intended to provide flavor and objectives for your game. Expand the de jure counties of Switzerland each to have 7 holding slots.Create the Swiss Guard for the Pope and potentially get an alliance with him. Get new artifacts. Make decrees and policies for the cantons of the confederation. Vassalize a mercenary company. Etc.

Great Work: Build the unique Oberhofen Castle in Bern and utilize some of it's unique upgrades and additional upgrade slots. Stage 1 appears in Bern in 1200. Stage 2 in 1306.

Known Issues:
N/A

Conclusion/Suggestions:
This is my first time attempting any sort of focused immersion mod rather than a broad flavor mod, but feel free to leave feedback and suggestions. I will try to add any good ones that mesh well with the rest of it. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy!

Will there be a William Tell and/or his bloodlines in this mod?

Hello, I can't create the Swiss central bank in the events. Could you explain how to do it?

That makes me really glad to hear, I look forward to it if you pursue it!

@Conquistador I have thought about making an overhaul/ immersion for the Dutch as a republic. It's definitely a worthy idea when I get the time lol.

Great mod! Would love to see a similar overhaul with the Dutch.

@Fruitgeris The government change never happened in my testing upon gaining independence. I'm not sure if you have other mods installed or what would cause that. The confederate corruption occurs when you hold more than one county in your demesne while either leading the confederation or holding one of the 11 Swiss cantons. You can still hold other baronies just not more than a county. It's meant to reflect the delicate power balance of the Old Swiss Confederacy and the desire of its member cantons to not allow any one of the cantons to become too powerful.

As for the council positions, I will look into it, but I have not touched council modding before.

@Fruitgeris assuming you aren't on Ironman, you can use the the set_government command in the console. For example, set_government swiss_confederate_government [your character id]

yo I found a glitch where once you become independant after forming the swiss confederation, you become the feudal government instead of swiss confederacy government, is there a way to change it back?

btw can you maybe add that every canton cna have a seat on the council? like in real life?
