How To Get Achievements To Work (As Of July 2023)

In July 2023, EA kicked their EA App devs into high gear, and managed to fix the achievements, but if you've played before July, you'll have noticed that you may still not be able to unlock them for some reason. This reason is: The game already thinks you have the achievements are unlocked. This guide will tell you how to fix it so your achievements activate and track properly! :D

How to Fix The Achievements

Go to your Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save folder. You should see a file named "TrilogyGamerProfile".
Delete that file.
Look in your ME1, ME2, and ME3 folders in the same folder.
Look for files with the name "GamerProfile.pcsav"
Delete THOSE files.
Start each game to refresh your game's achievements. It took 2 times for ME1 to reset only the achievements I got, so you may have to do that.
Enjoy having working achievements! :D

As you can see from this screenshot, it's properly tracking as well.

But yeah! That should do it for you!

@GregSplintercell My theory is that you have to do a romance in all three with the same character, and Liara and Kelly don't count for ME2. Which is horse hockey, but I digress. When I do my BroShep playthrough of Legendary Edition, I'm deliberately doing Liara for 1, and Tali for 2 and 3. XD

I got my achievements to unlock by just downloading origin and then going back to the EA app and they literally started unlocking at the same time. I do have an issue getting the Paramour 3 achievement. Can anyone help with why it won't unlock?

@GregSplintercell Hmmm. It may be a new bug, I'm not sure. It's been a while so I'll probably check the EA Answers HQ site.

My achievements have been working up until only a couple days ago with ME3. I don't have a "GamerProfile.pcsav" file when I check in the ME3 folder.

Hmmm. All I can think of is restarting a full run, or perhaps ME2 is stupidly only checking for Paramour 1 and 2. Because when the hotfix for the EA app came out, I restarted my ME1 run to get them to track properly... that's all I can think of, unfortunately.

any other criteria for this? I've done these steps and still don't get them to update.
I've got a save file right before jumping into Omega-4, trying to fix this so I can just jump through and get the Paramour 3 achievement (ME2 romance with Garrus isn't triggering for some reason)

Earlier in the year I was doing a workaround where I had an offline origin app, while changing the date time settings in windows, and this fixed most of my ME2/ME3 achievement issues.

Your instructions here, with an up to date EA App, don't seem to work.

11/5/2023 - ME1 ~ Achievements not hitting in steam.

Can confirm this work around still works for achievements that are not completing in steam correctly but are completing in game. Do exactly as it says everything resets it self.

Question: Did you try it with the EA App or with the old Origin client? This is with the EA App. And I tested this myself, I actually restarted my ME1 run (because I wasn't that far in it), so it could track properly, and I obtained Recruit and Soldier in my ME1 run, as well as many of the ME2 achievements, as seen here: https://gtm.you1.cn/id/7thDementia/stats/1328670/?tab=achievements . I also have a link to the thread where we were conversing about this problem, so if you still have the problem with the EA App, I'd recommend posting in there. If it's with the Origin client, though, I can't help you, although there are other guides that can help with that.
