Description
Animated Sprinting
A simple addon that makes it so sprinting is animated. Also makes it so you can only sprint forward (optional).

REQUIRES DYNABASE AND THE MIXAMO ANIMATIONS EXTENSION

Console Commands
AnimatedSprinting_enabled 0/1 - Enables or disables the addon. AnimatedSprinting_forwardonly 0/1 - Sprinting is only allowed when running forward. AnimatedSprinting_maxsidevelocity 0 to 1 (float) - The maximum amount of relative side velocity allowed before sprinting is forced off, if forwardonly is set to 1. Default is 0.7 (Diagonal sprinting allowed, but not full side sprint.) AnimatedSprinting_limitmousemovement 0 to 1 (float) - Max turn speed percentage while sprinting. Float from 0 to 1. Set to 1 to disable.

To-do/The future
  • Fix the buggy unarmed sprint anim
  • Add option to enable forward-only sprint restriction
  • Add option to restrict shooting while sprinting
  • Look into making the 2 handed sprint anim hold the weapons better

That's more of a problem with the footstep sound implementation.

For some god forsaken reason player footsteps are timer-based instead of being driven by animation events, like NPC footsteps.

Very possible to fix, but you'd have to recompile the animations with events baked in.

Referring to what Marisa said, changing the player sprint speed doesn't really help the sync issue because the footstep sound speed is either too fast or too slow for the speed of your animation. There is no in between and the end result retains the awkwardness of vanilla animations.

I’d recommend just lowering the sprint speed, as imo the default speed is ridiculously fast anyway. I don’t want to implement custom anim speed scaling as I’d have to fuck with some networking stuff.
