Description
Food doesn't rot.

If it doesn't work / an update came out adding new food, notify me

No, I do not intent to make compabilites with other mods.
If this mod doesn't work with your other mods or you want to make modded food not spoil, here's a little tutorial.

1. Go to

Mod Files
| C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\ [] \media\scripts |

or

Game Files
| C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\scripts |

and check if there's either: "farming.txt", "newitems.txt", "items_food.txt" or find a txt file that includes the food, but usually it's the first three.
If you find either of them, open them up, preferably with Notepad++ or other text editor with a search function.

2. Find each | DaysFresh | & | DaysTotallyRotten | variable

Eg. DaysFresh = 3,
DaysTotallyRotten = 5,

and simply remove them. (They may not always be next to each other)

Note: This tutorial may not work for every mod. That's life.

Hello,

To anyone having problems with this mod: I took a look using the instructions in the mod description and it looks like the "newitems.txt" file is what is causing the issues. There are quite a few differences in the mod file and the game file, most of which have nothing to do with food. Entire sections are missing, which include fuel items. I'm not sure if it was caused by an update or something else, but there aren't many food items in that file, just a few of the canned foods which have some pretty long shelf lives already, so you can likely get the mod working by deleting that file out of the mod folder.

Alternatively, you can use the instructions to recreate the mod yourself, which is pretty simple and what I did. Using the 'Replace all' in Notepad++ only took about 10 minutes total to get the mod up and running.

Thank you so much for the tutorial about modded food. Skizot's Carryable Everything was overwriting this mod when it came to potted food. Your tutorial was simple and easy to follow and I wish more modders did that. Again, thank you so much!

It also stops fuel being siphoned from gas station pumps into petrol cans, same as before tested with just this mod

Heyo, just wanted to let you know theres a bug with siphoning gas with a bottle, it spews out tonnes of errors and the bottle stays empty, then vanishes if it leaves my hands. Ive tested the problem with only this mod activated

Follow the tutorial in the descryption, but add DaysFresh and DaysTotallyRotten to any food you want to rot
