Yesterday, I tested the calorie burn rates with your mod active, all sandbox settings set to 1.0.

Burn rate per 10m in-game or 25s real-time on vanilla day length (1h). In-game time is used for calculation. Measurments might not be perfect:

Sitting 6kcal
Standing 10kcal
Walking 48 kcal
Jogging 80 kcal
Sprinting 104 kcal
(5/5 chars can't sprint that long, Tested in debug with unlimited stamina, otherwise jogging starts at mild exhaustion.)
Action Time ? I transferred items from a cupboard which was same burn rate as standing: 10kcal. So I guess it's crafting related, which I haven't tested.

Calculating burn rate modifier for inventory weight:

EncumbranceModifier = 1+(InventoryWeight/MaxWeight)*0.1

-Not encumbered: +0-10% cal burn rate

-Heavy Load / encumbrance 1 (+10-12,5%)
Walking 54kcal
Jogging 90kcal

-Heavy Load 2 (+12,5-15%)
Walking 55kcal
Jogging 92kcal

-Heavy Load 3 (+15-17,5%)
Walking 56kcal
Jogging 94kcal

-Heavy Load 4 (starting at 17,5%)
Walking 56 kcal

Thank you for the data, I'll add a little image of it to the description when I have time.

Ok, then you described perfectly well, what it does and I misunderstood^^ I started a new run and was surprised of how low on calories I was after just a few hours. So, I assumed you changed the values for higher burn rates, which would need much more food per day.
Chuckleberry Finn  [auteur] 16 dec 2024 om 18:09
The burn rate is equal to that of vanilla.

The differences would be carrying items burns more per item, and sitting down will burn less than standing.

For sb. who doesn't know your mod, being able to read in the description how much you tweaked the burn rates compared to vanilla would give an idea, what to expect and help understand, how to finetune the values.

You say, there are sandbox options, if the base rates are not to our liking. What are the base rates? Do all activities cost more energy? How low can I go until I reach the vanilla rates?
I would like the mod infinitely more, if it would say in the description or ingame tooltip, how much calories are burnt and what value the multipliers actualy multiply. That saves us so much time and testing.
I would like to lower the burn rate, since it feels too high for me, and I would also like to know the exact values.

Thank you for the kinds words, and extra perspective.

I don't think these people actually care, if they did they'd not make crazy statements.

I don't know what all this mod copyright argument is about but for what it's worth I copied Chucklberry's code from his mod here for my own mod (with his permission) and he was even nice enough to answer some DMs from me explaining what various lines did so I could modify it more to what I was trying to achieve.  I didnt find him unreasonable when asking his permission. I just link back to his mod here from mine and if anyone doesnt like the dislclaimer he puts on his mods for modpack etc, you can just ignore if you want. Not sure what you trying to gain from arguing here.
