Im proud and delighted to (re) introduce you all to BF BC2 : Port Valdez

The map was featured in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 demo, as well as the PC Beta Trial,in which it ran from Jan 28th to Feb 25th 2010.

This is my 3rd map in the series of Battlefield maps im creating for Ravenfield

What can i say, BC2 had the greatest selection of maps of any MP shooter,period! Among them was this gem,Port Valdez.A long and linear map which focuses on combined arms warfare.

Its infantry centric,with vehicles being extremely important for supporting a push.I have recreated the rush version of this map,within the conquest(point match,though any mode works)game mode.I have added a few very small changes such as patrol boat spawns for AI/Player flanking as the map is more linear in nature than say Caspian border,and made slight heightmap changes to accomadate balance where was needed.Runs reasonably well for me in EA25,when EA26 hits stable it should run perfect(if you currently encounter FPS issues)

I have never ever been so meticulous before in creating ANYTHING and feel iv nailed the recreation of this map within the limits of the vanilla editor Ravenfield offers. I spent the best part of all Xmas day getting the AI pathing,both vehicle and infantry(boats too) to take advantage of every route,piece of cover and emplaced weapon. The trial in balancing is complete and it is ready to go.

I wanted to wait for EA26 to release before publishing but fu*k it,its Christmas.

Slight update to the map to increase HELO respawn time in order for AA to feel rewarding and prevent air rape.

Also fixed one outstanding neighbors issue- eagles deployment will no longer be a target for capture once Raven own construction site,as is normal for my maps.

no worries! its not much of an issue anyway because you can still use the vanilla spawn menu with the beta. im not too sure how to pull it up since i use controller to play but i think youd press the battleplan key? then from there you can view vanilla spawns, and just “hide” the 2042 hud with enter until spawning 😊

Hey thanks for clearing up he issue with 2042 HUD. Never considered a parachute / air spawn would be a conflict.

RUSH mode has no vehicles,one side (defenders) own all point and attackers must drive through each,one by one. Defenders will defend the furthest point(frontline) to the attackers spawn or nearest owned flag...Defenders NEVER retake lost flags,they simply win by killing enough of the attacking team,attackers win by capturing all the flags.

For the mode to work with decent balance,you must play with these settings:

MODE : BATTLE
LENGTH: LONG OR EPIC
RESPAWN TIME: 20 SEC
BALANCE: DEFENDERS NEED SLIGHTLY LESS BOTS,MOVE SLIDER LOW BUT DONT REMOVE ANY SILOHETES OF SOLDIERS IN THE BALANCE SCREEN,SLIDER CIRCLE SHOULD BE OVER THE HEAD OF THE MIDDLE RAVEN SOLDIER IN BALANCE SCREEN(TINKER WITH THIS UNITL YOU FIND A BALANCE YOUR HAPPY WITH,PROPOSED SETTINGS ARE TESTED WITH AI V AI AND NO PLAYER ON EITHER TEAM)

its pretty intense

@Damgam to spawn, use the vanilla spawn menu instead of 2042s, and use 2042 for any spawn points besides the initial E/R spawns. the 2042 hud is simply in conflict with this maps spawning in air functionality, but that doesnt mean you cant spawn at all. hope this helps

lovely map btw! ive never played battlefield but this map is really fun in ravenfield and i play it often. can i ask how the rush version differs? if not dont worry ill google the game mode difference im just not a bf player. tysm for making it~ ☺️🤍

Im fairly certain it is caused either by hud or beta. Mutator perhaps but usually BETA version has issues. Might be resolved tomorrow when BETA updates.

Regarding RUSH maps and vehicles. I used to include them. It wasnt balanced...however i have found a better way to balance them and include them in a limited degree,so hang tight,future BF maps coming.Those and these RUSH maps are going to have vehicles(as an option)

I love your maps btw! Finally someone taking care of placing spawn positions properly around capture points. I kinda wish Rush ones had vehicles tho.

Rush version of this map works fine... idk. maybe some other mutator is messing around with it.
Or for some odd reason the BF UI mod isn't compatible with this one map.

I just tested and i spawn with no issues

2 things i cannot test
1) BF HUD map. plz disable and check if you can spawn
2)BETA branch. i never heard of anyone with issues on BETA branch with this map.I cannot test

Try to see if you can load the RUSH version of this map and spawn in ok.
If i had to guess. BF HUD might be giving the issue on my map(no idea why,i just know it has custom spawn screen) between BF HUD and BETA branch,your issue may lay there but i cant test. So do as i said and report back.



ALSO 1ST TIME SPAWNING THIS MAP THERE CAN BE UP TO A 10 SECOND DELAY. MAKE SURE YOUR GIVING IT ENOUGH TIME... FOR EXAMPLE..DO YOU SEE AI SPAWN AFTER YOU CLICK? IF THEY DO AND YOU DONT THEN I CAN NARROW IT DOWN,BUT IM GUESSING THEY ARE NOT AND THE ISSUE IS YOUR NOT WAITING LONG ENOUGH OR SOMETHING IN BETA HAS BROKEN SOME MAPS.

This map is made just like all my other maps. literally no reason it would be broken if my others are ok.
