Description
A tasty kebab will skewer two cubes, but be careful not to devour them too quickly.

Shift Kebab is a small two-cube shuffler featuring two relays which must be pierced by a single laser.

Estimated Difficulty: Order of Magnitude 3-4 with experience (Mostly manageable).

Important Notes:
  • As indicated in the anteroom, some timing and basic mechanical skill is required to catch the cubes. The timing is a bit tighter than I'd like, but for these catches there is no need to use any special movement techniques or even jump; the player will only ever need to walk in a direction and turn some. Admittedly, the timings are a bit closer than here than in any other map I've published.

Other Notes:
  • There's a little machinery in the background intended to prevent double-queueing the dropper; this shouldn't cause any issues, but let me know if it does, or if it can be circumvented.
  • Quickly flicking the cube in front of a laser several times is not intended; this can skip a small move.

Great use of the ideas in Obstruction! The last move really stumped me because I forgot ghost cubes could block lasers. I watched the solution to confirm I was close to the end and realize they had to be able to do so. The colourful drop areas were beautiful!

Thanks SomusNamus! I'm glad you had an overall positive experience. Your reaction to the timing is very fair - it's definitely stricter than I'd like. The issue actually comes more directly from the fact that I originally wanted a compact layout than the delayers themselves; if the timer is more than 1 second on the purple cube, e.g., the player can collect it by just running from one of the fizzlers. The pink cube also received 1 second for a universal-length dropper delay. If I ever revisit this map, I'll probably try to fix it by increasing the delay to the droppers, but also moving them back a bit so the timing is easier but harder to break the puzzle with.
