The Mighty Rooga - TDQ

Description
Rooga

“The Mighty Rooga”

A new Legendary Hero for the High Elves. Custom Hero and Skills. Tasked by the mysterious Slann to protect Princess Islandra, Rooga is a steadfast guardian of the wayward Caldorian.

**Updated weapon and animations** 06/11/21

Hi everyone,
This is my latest Mod. Rooga can be recruited from either the Embassy or the Elven Gardens. He can be built as either an anti-large hunting hero or a line holding tank character. He has two unique skill lines that you will have the option to choose from. However be warned, one skill line locks the other.

This was a difficult build so I am sure that are some minor issues that might pop up. I also might be doing some balancing, but overall I am really happy how this mod turned out.

The Build/Compatibility

He shouldn’t have any compatibility issues. I tried to make him as independent as possible, but let me know if you find a conflict and I’ll try to isolate it.

Recruiting him

He is recruitable by all High Elf Factions. I don't take donations, but likes will do :p. If I get enough I might make him recruitable by the Empire or the Dwarfs.

To unlock him just build either the Embassy or the Elven Gardens, then open the hero menu that you would use to recruit a generic noble in any campaign.

Fluff

The sounds of dying outside grew louder as the sounds of battle faded. The human mercenaries that she had hired were on their last leg. Soon they would be dead and her distraction would be gone. Her time was running out.

Buried deep in the Lustrian Jungle, the temple she was in held her prize. She was sure of it. Her guide, Anzio had led the way through the strange dark passage to the main room she was now in. She could hear him breathing heavily behind her. Fear radiated from the human. It annoyed her.

In front of her a golden idol rose up out of the knee high water. Unlike the other serpent statues she had passed, this one was unique for this place. It was a Dragon. It's golden form stood up on a coiled tail, with wide wings that spread out, almost touching both walls. It had three large rubies for eyes that seemed to glare at all that entered the room. A haze of frost seemed to hover over them.

She had found her prize.

It should have only taken moments to remove them, but her progress was slowed when she cut her hand on a jagged edge. She ignored the pain and stared at the gems in her bloody hand. These would be the beginning she thought. She would show those that had exiled her.

It came suddenly.

The sound of rushing water erupted, as something huge rose. It's giant frame filled the room. Before Anzio could react to it, the thing backhanded him with a sickening crunch. He spiraled end over end through the air and slammed into the far wall. His lifeless body slumped and slowly sank into the water.

The Giant struck again, this time at her. Fortunately she did not have the slow, ungraceful reflexes of the human and was able to duck it. The monster struck again and again she side-stepped out of the way splashing water as she did. She rolled under the third heavy swing, but found herself trapped into a corner by the move. It advanced with a low growl.

Trapped, she attempted to push it back in a vain attempt to create space. Her bloodied hand resting against the thing's strange medallion. The Monster did not budge. She waited for the next bone crushing strike.

It did not come.

The swirling green design of medallion she had touched, now blood covered, glowed intensely. Almost as if a lightning bolt had struck it, the creature went ridged. Its giant body locked stiffly and its eyes fluttered and then exploded in a matching green light. It paused, before making what looked like a tiny nod. It made almost a cooing sound.

The moment passed as fast as it came. Within seconds, it had grabbed her arm and dragged her back down the corridor that she had entered from.

They walked into the light outside and now she could finally truly see the creature. It was a giant white Kroxigor. Its massive head scanned the gruesome scene outside. The humans were either all dead or captive to the swarming Lizardmen. Those alive would soon wish for death.

It only took moments for them to noticed her. They rushed to the Kroxigor and his prize, eager to help him finish her. For the first time in the adventure she felt fear.

But it was not as it seemed. As they closed in the Kroxigor roared in defiance. Shocked by this the others stopped, and formed a circle around the two. The giant monster growled at the other Lizardmen to prove his point.

It almost seemed to work, until one old Saurus warrior stepped forward. The lizardman's spiked club was bloody from his previous labors and he swung it as a threat. The two seemed to stare at each other for a long moment.

Finally the Kroxigor released her. It turned and looked at her briefly. It's eyes were not the cold murderous ones that she had seen earlier. Instead they looked almost empathetic. It was quite puzzling. She scanned the surrounding Lizardmen. They gnashed their jaws and flexed their claws in anticipation.

The fight had started quickly. The Saurus was much faster . It had sliced the Krox several times before the giant had even swung back. The surrounding Lizardmen howled and chattered. Another swing and more blood from the Krox was spilled. The onlookers could almost taste her flesh she thought.

The Sausus leapt high in to the air, bringing his club down again. This time blood exploded from one of the Krox's eyes. The monstrous creature's head reared back causing a crimson arch. The chatter grew louder.

Her pulse pounded.

The Saurus charged again. It's club raised high to finish the challenge. The mighty Scar veteran started to roar, but it was cut short. The Krox had caught him by the throat. The giant albino lifted the attacker off the ground. The Saurus struggled momentarily before the huge monster grabbed his legs with his other hand. Then, violently the Krox literally ripped him in half.

Blood showered all those near and the Krox let out a deafening roar.

All was quiet. Then, almost as a whisper it started. Growing louder and louder

“Roooooga”, “Rooooga”, “Roooga” the Lizardmen chanted.

The Krox snorted at the crowd. With no other challengers, It turned and looked at her again. Its wrecked eye gushed, but it still had that friendly look to her. It grabbed her hand again and slowly walked her out into the jungle.

Prologue: Deep in it's temple fortress the old's Slanns eyes glowed. In front of it the image of the two walking off faded. It grunted quietly and a dozen Skink servants obeyed, scurrying in every direction. The great plan was in motion.

TLDR: For some mysterious reason the Mighty Rooga has been tasked with protecting Princess Islandra.

Ending

If you want to use of borrow any or my work please ask FIRST. I spent a lot of time creating him and stealing that time is kind of a jerk thing to do.
Thanks to everyone for downloading. If you think I did a good job hit me up with a like.

@Harbinger1357 If you want to make a addon-mod for that purpose you can. Originally it was my intention to make one, but I never finished.

Curious if you had plans or were ok if for personal use the editing of this to be available to Empire? This guy fits well for an original character I planned and would love to have him available

All his skills that say "lord's army" dont apply because hes a hero so theres lots of useless bloat in his skill tree.

Great mod! I found a bug though. All of his skill lines stop in the middle and say 'available after spending zero points in the previous group'. Both yellow lines regardless of choice, the red line and the blue line skills.

Ahh I see its probably as simple as the SFO submod being out of date. Lol Especially since it was the lizardman that got updated.

Seems I have a mod conflict as well, thats disappointing. Guess I'll need to figure out the cause. Not too sure what would conflict against this.
