You are playing on a map with bad lighting. Play on a map with proper lighting instead. Maps with proper lighting include maps from tf2, l4d, portal, and gmod fan favorites like rp_downtown. Avoid (bad) maps with bad lighting, which include most skiddie gmod maps, all of css, and some hl2 maps.
Strong highlights are characteristic of the IW engine and I have tried to replicate that authentic look on these models, at least as far as it can be reasonably done in source. It will look normal on maps with correct lighting. It will be ruined by maps with blown out lighting.
