Description
The sixth in my series of fully scripted games, it's Apotheca [Fully Scripted]!

Instructions
  • Press the "Start Game" button when all players are seated.
  • On your turn:
    • Click a facedown potion to reveal it.
    • Click the potion bag to restock potions.
    • Click on of your apothecaries to use it's power.
      • Click it again the cancel it's use.
    • Click an apothecary on an apothecary station to hire it.
  • If you want to hold 'Alt' over cards to read them, you must do it over the bottom part of the card. The top part has a button on it.
That's it. The game has you covered for everything else. Enjoy!

Description from BGG
Players craft potions in a secret marketplace. Hide ingredients to deceive opponents, and use magical powers to mix concoctions. But beware - your opponents are brewing schemes of their own!

Apotheca is played on a 4x4 grid. Players gain points by making matches of three potions of the same color in a row. The first player to make three matches wins. It's easily learned, but the combination of asymmetric powers and secret facedown potions make the game a delicious challenge.

On each turn, players take 2 of 4 possible actions:
  • Reveal: Reveal a secret potion and gain a gem of that color
  • Restock: Draw, look at, and place secret potions on the board until there are exactly 3
  • Power: Use one of your active apothecary powers
  • Hire: Spend gems to hire new apothecaries
Whenever a player makes a match, they must place it on one of their apothecaries. This removes that apothecary's power for the rest of the game, so it's important for players to keep revealing potions, collecting gems and hiring new apothecaries... all while keeping their opponents at bay!

Deduction is key to Apotheca. Players trap each other with clever spatial moves, bluffing and misdirection. The action economy is very well balanced, so every turn offers an opportunity for strategy and tough decisions.

The feeling of the game differs with every number of players:
  • 2 player is the most cerebral and controlled
  • 3 player is the most chaotic, yet still within your grasp
  • 4 player is played in teams, offering neat collaborative gameplay

Features
  • Modes
    • Standard : First to satisfy three apothecaries wins. 4 player games are played in teams.
    • Solo : Gain points based on matching colors in the market when you satisfy an apothecary. Try to get a high score.
    • 4 Player FFA : Standard game, but no teams for 4 players.
  • 19 Different Apothecaries
    • Includes 4 bonus kickstarter apothecaries.
  • Hotseat Compatibility
    • You will not be able to peek at facedown potions.
    • Potions will be visible when restocking, so have other players look away if you want to preserve hidden information.
    • Press F11 to hide turn prompts. They pop up over the board and make it easy to reveal a potion when clicking them.

Possible Upcoming Features
These are features I have on my mind. The varient modes are pretty important for this game in my opinion, so I will for sure add them unless this mod flops.
  • Varient Modes
    • Master of the Market
  • 3 Special Potion Tiles

Other Game Recommendations
If you like quick and random card games, Fuji Flush [Fully Scripted] has been touted as sort of an Uno killer. Plays up to 8 players and features Computer AI.

If you like fully scripted mods and puzzle games, you have to try Bullet♥︎ [Fully Scripted]. Don't let the theme dissuade you. It plays similar to puzzle games like tetris, and with the scripting it is basically a video game.

Closing Comments
If you run into any issues or errors, please post the error message/issue. I'm also open to any suggestions.

Let me know in the comments what game I should fully script next.

@Kawarri

I'll have to double check the mod/rulebook, but if I'm calculating it wrong I'll have to fix it. Thanks for letting me know!

Amazing mod, you do amazing work, it seems!
However, as much as it pains me to point out: The solo mode scoring is incorrect.

I was struggling to get a decent score, and after a scan of many forum posts with designer responses; turns out many complain about tough solo scoring, as points are intended to be calculated *after* the match stacks onto a single space.

A match of 3 with 2 elsewhere on the board gains 3, not 5 as you have it (there are 5 pre-stack).
A match of 4 with none elsewhere gains 1, not 4 (4 pre-stack). Etc etc.

I was curious if you knew scoring struggles with the original game and did this on purpose, or is indeed an error that may need unfortunate fixing?

Ran into a bug two times in a row. My opponent satisfied an Apothecary with Yellow potions, but it didn't happen, instead the game switched to my turn and got the following error message when moving the mouse over the cards that she should have received: Error in Script (Global) function <mouseExitBoard>:chunk_3:(1186,37-51): attempt to index a nil value.

We love the script but this error ruined 2 games in a row :(

@Qōō

Yeah, that's a rare situation, but I should probably fix that. Thanks for reporting, glad you are enjoying the game!
